... the feeling of anxiety. Though my life has been studded with more positive emotions recently, anxiety and paranoia peek around at every corner. It can be hard to deal with and control at times, but I do my best.

Fear, sometimes it is very hard to accept that there are some things in life you just can't control. sad

Boy, do I know that feeling all too well. So many things in my life have went downhill right out of my hands to which I say "What am I supposed to do here?" "How do the heck do I even fix any of this?". Moments like these have sunk me into a pit of overhwelming depression. However, and this isn't me trying to nudge you towards something, life has changed for the better with me recently once I discovered a most powerful truth.

After making the choice (a not so easy choice I may add) of becoming a Christian, I learned that we in fact don't have as much control of our lives as we thought we did, but that there is actually a comforting security in that should we decide to put our lives into the hands of someone who actually knows what they're doing with it and knows what's best of it. Now I won't sit here on some imaginary high horse and say "Go with God and everything will be perfect with sunshine and rainbows" as that simply isn't the case nor would I force you into that way of thinking for that would be completely immoral and wrong of me. However, what I will say is that you should take the time to reflect on your life realizing that sometimes what we think is the best choice for us, may actually be the opposite in the grand scheme of things.

I was not so long ago divorced from a 10 year relationship, forced to live back with my parents, and continue to work at the same frustrating job that I have been for 6 years. Sounds like a bummer that I wished I could change? Damn right it is. Or rather, I thought it was. Here's the real truth that I discovered. That divorce opened up a new and rejuvinating chapter in my life to where, for the first time in my life, I felt like I could genuinely and deeply grow as an individual with several important things and not rely on someone constantly, me living back with my family temporarily opened up the door for me to save money to eventually afford the things that I needed that I couldn't before when I was living with my wife prior, and working at that same crappy job allows me job security since there's literally no one at the company that wants my position. Job security is something that I wished for and never realized I had this entire time.

I say this to say "Sometimes, it's actually better to not have that full control of our lives" that we think we deserve and should have as we simply don't know everything that we need for our present and future. We act on impulse and current emotional/mental states without seeing the bigger picture. Take the time to reflect on the good that you do have at the moment, then take the time to reflect on what could have been (the negative version), and then finally take the time to patiently and calmly reflect on what goals can be met because of the good that you have right now.

Hope this helps. With love and peace,

Saleem.

@TaliaGreen

As someone who battles with this on a daily basis, I can understand this to great effect Talia. Most recently, I even went into a bit of a mental breakdown (one of my lower moment in life) after the overwhelming thought of being isolated forever once my only friend who still lives close by me eventually leaves. However, it is through this crisis that I turn to Jesus and ask Him to bless me with the comfort that I need. Now, this isn't me telling you to follow some religious path or anything like that, but what I'd nudge you in the direction of is to find someone that you can go to in your time of need. Whether it be a family member, a therapist, a pastor, or any friend of sorts that is genuinely only there to help your needs as we are not meant to be alone.

Talia, I learn the hard way throughout my years how absolutely DANGEROUS it is to be alone for too long especially for someone like myself who has suffered from mental illness (and continues to today) for countless of years. I say to you "Fend off that pesky loneliness with happiness in the most healthiest of ways imagineable" (emphasis on "healthiest" as I've sadly went down some unhealthy roads to cope with my loneliness that only made matters worst). Yes, I have recently in my life decided to chose the Christian path, but even on this path, worldy issues like loneliness plagues me almost to an overwhelming fault, but I'll tell you today, you will NOT be alone in your life. You are NEVER truly alone as much as you may think in these moments, and I urge you to boldly find healthy ways to overcome this dreadful sensation.

WIth much love and peace, I hope that things work out for the best with you in your coming days Talia.

Heavy emotions when I have to be protecting myself against my beloved one, to stand up for my own personal good and thus break the peace and push him and behave bitchy. I love him very much and it is a last thing I would do to offend him, but I had to stand for myself and we broke up. :((((
