Swimming and singing. And petting the kitty.
I sketch out calming landscapes, gardens or waterfalls, or snowy fields. I try to envision myself in those sketches and it really helps me out.
When Im anxious I listen to music and breathe deeply
Mentally detaching myself from the situation, looking at myself as the third person
Detaching myself via music ussualy helps..
I do this thing called the mindful moment and its when I close my eyes and breathe deeply and it just calms me down and makes me for focused
I have been known to hide in the back of the closet. Or any where I can fit that nobody will look
I wanted to add to mine but didnt know how. When I was around 9-10 I lived with my grandparents. Visited my parents on weekends/holidays/summer. Once we lived in a house with a huge closet. It was walk in and had a very deep top shelf. I made a fire up there. Up behind pillows and blankets. As hidden as I could be. If I could do that now as an adult I would. I try to cope better but sometimes I do want to go to the deepest possible place and hide. Not dark tho. I hate dark. Id take a light.
If I can I try and take deep breaths. If I'm at home I hit water or punch a pillow :)
I take things one breath at a time. Each breath is a victory and I cheer for myself at every respiration.
