I sing a lot to help with my anger and anxiety. It has been very hard for me to find coping mechanisms, and this really helps me a lot.

I try to detach. I look at whatever is making me feel bad like it

I learned this one from a friend last month, helping me not to explode towards someone elses anger - imagine you have a switch in your ear. The person in front on you is throwing a tantrum, yelling nonsense and visibly raging.

What do I do? I turn that switch off, and not listen a thing. At least not paying attention. This allows me to analyse the situation calmly, select the information, build great comebacks... I mean, preparing a proper response...

The other person is throwing all their shut out. They cant control themselves, but you surely can control how much you let that affect you.

Let it flow and roll like water over a leaf.

To stay calm, I like to play air guitar to Oasis. Their music just reminds me to not sweat the small stuff and to have the best time that I can! ...Some bad singing maybe involved!

Take deep breaths. Go for a walk or a run. Write. Or speak to someone.
