Question: Would you post in the forum more if you could edit your own posts?

I'm curious to know how much this impacts your engagement.

I would certainly prefer it if we could edit things. Sometimes I have typo's I've missed. The biggest problem is that every time I click outside the textbox, my whole passage gets deleted, so it would be nice to have a "Save Draft" button.

Sometimes we say things at thatmoment which we may recognisemay not be what we want to convey later, and so, by knowing that we can't change our forum post, from personal experience, I won't always post... If we had the edit function, I could write out my post - come back to it 10 mins later or even a few hours later, and actually make adjustments - maybe add to it... things like that!

Coincedentally, reading back over this now I've posted, I would rephrase the first bit a little bit...

I would love to be able to edit and delete forum posts. I have many posts with typos, things I want to add and posts I have written while angry that I would like to have removed or edited...

I used to write angry forum posts whenI got yelled at for speaking Spanish in Teen Support and now that I understand the rule, I am embarrassed when I get a notification for them...a delete option would be nice too

Yes!!!! I have ADHD, and sometimes type things I don't mean as an impulse. I often edit even my facebook statuses.

It's scary to know I cannot edit/delete something I wrote.

Yes! I get a little anxious about not being able to correct mistakes and that's why I don't post too often.

This would be a really great improvement!

If I forget to tag someone, I have to reply to my own post and that counts as spam in my head.

Editing is also useful for when I put several links or longer text post, and I am not able to see how that looks like in this little pop up box. Edit option would make it possible to style it later so that it looks better and is more easy to read. Perhaps that problem would be solved if there was not pop up box, but just a box which is wide as postsat the end of page. Or something like that.

Yeah, so often I forget to tag someone I was replying to, or think of something else I could have written after I had posted. Or for questions asked where I have since found the answer to, I would edit it to save wasting someone else's time replying with it. I think this would be a great idea.

I totally would post more because I feel insecure about some of the things I write. I used to think that we didn't have an edit button because what we wrote out of anger, sadness or joy was what we wanted to say for the first time. Not going back to delete some things that wechange our minds about. If there was a typo, that meant we were feeling that emotion too strongly to change it hahaCheesy, but I thought it was pretty sweet. cheeky

I agree with the idea of editing.....and what the others have said .....we all should have the option of changing the things we post.....
