The best gift I have ever been given is......
Well, I've read most of the other posts, and I've been thinking really, about how to answer myself, I guess I'm not very thankful for physical things, because I know I'll eventually lose them, my memories will disappear, and I'll be forgotten, but today, I'm here... I have forgotten anything yet... So, the gift I'd be most thankful for right now, would be something I have lost, my innocence, I know that sounds weird, but I am grateful for it, we're so innocent when we're born, we're almost perfect, but we lose that, and it's something we can't ever get back, so, I'm thankful God gave it to me in the first place...

The best gift Ive ever been given is, forgiveness and mercy
it may sounds strange to you, but the best thing that ever happened to me was being poisoned by doctors and sustaining severe brain damage. i had to completely regain my life, and it was a new life, not the old one where i was special and haughty, but one where i was lowly and ugly and unloved. i had to learn to be kind to myself, and others, not that i wasn't before, but it came easy then, and was relatively meaningless. i learned so much, that was never taught in colleges: how to build a brain function; how to repair my own brain. and in order to do that, i had to learn to meditate,re- learn how to focus (which had always been easy to me). i didn't understood many of the every-day life experiences of other people, until i saw that down side of life. it was a rebirth as well a a reconstruction.
@GustyOne4U this is so brave of you to say, such a positive view of life. If more people were like this the world would raise it's vibration to another level!

The best gift I have ever been given is from my foster family. They took me in when I needed a place to stay and gave me a family when my own was abusing me. This is the best gift I have even gotten. They gave me kindness I have never really had before.

Well... Some background: there's this girl who I am super into, and she said she loved me but due to circumstances (distance, mostly) it couldn't really work out so we mutually agreed to stay in friend zone for a bit. That being said, there was always still something there when we saw each other. So... It was a small gift, but she bought me a shirt for my birthday. And it's honestly the best gift ever simply Bec of who it was from. Sometimes it's not about the money or whatever, and it really is the thought that counts.

I was taken from a home full of drug users, alcholics with no education.
My adopted parents while not rich, gave me everything I needed Including a love of learning.
I have never smoked, gotten drunk or taken drugs.
