Hi everyone!

I just wanted to get a conversation goin & learn a little bit more about how you all feel about 7 Cups. So my question is...

What made you come back to 7 Cups for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th times...etc. Be as specific in your reply as possible. The more information you can provide, the better.

Have a lovely day!!!

I came back because today feel like the worse day and I just want to talk to someone who won't judge or laugh at me. And I know this is the perfect place !

I actually stopped being a listener after my second chat left me with 1 star which happened last year (I know it was only second chat but for me it was really discouraging as a new listener as I was already extremely anxious to take any chat. I appreciate the newer listeners as I know being a new listener can be so tough especially if your first experience was not positive). It's not about the rating, but I was afraid that I was being terrible and I thought maybe I didn't deserve to be a listener if people didn't find me helpful at all, although in fact, I was really passionate to give my support. I didn't try to talk anyone about that as I didn't have any connection. I came back for the second time to this site as a guest because that time I was seeking help for myself. The listener who listened to me has inspired me a lot because he has reached both of high quantity and quality so far. I was amazed that he has gone that far as one chat was already stressful for me. I started to learn that I can't satisfy everyone but as long as my reason to come here is to support people sincerely, well I think it can't be that bad! I said to myself "maybe I will try again" and it's amazing that now I love being a listener so much! Many thanks to 7 Cups of Tea for providing a safe place to support each other like this!

Me personally have read the rules and after that I decided that it wouldn't be a good idea for me to be a lister and stick to reading a replying to posts in understanding and relation. As a listener I'd probably give advice because it's in my nature to be resourceful. Sometimes maybe not giving a good resourcefull idea. As I grow maybe later but I can't just jump in after a day of it, so. Probably for the same reason you quit after your first try also. I'm already in heart felt pain without taking on more.@naturalRose97

@Rasberry1976 Hi thank you for sharing your experience! At first I thought if I couldn't give any advice, then I wouldn't be that helpful. But after I read the guidance it helps me a lot to understand what does it really mean about "giving advice" here and "giving suggestion". The points are while giving advice is about telling someone what to do, giving suggestion is about helping them to explore the options they have, but in the end they have to make their own choices and decisions. Ultimately, I've learned the most important things are to be there, to listen, not to solve someone's problem or advise them. Not everyone wants to hear advice. Even someone gets angry at you because you don't give any advice, as what I've taught by my amazing mentor, it's not your fault and you're doing the right thing! Indeed, it is really challenging being a new listener (at least that's what I felt), but just by giving your time to be there for them, you have to know it's already amazing work. Good luck!

Why? It's simple.

1. Because I don't need to pretend here. I can just be myself. I can cry, I can laugh, I can shout - and no one will judge or laugh at me.

2. Because I can tell here what I can't outside the 7Cups in fear of hurting my family.

3. Because I can receive advice and support and it's a great feeling.

4. Because I don't feel so alone with the knowledge that there are so many people coping with exactly the same thing.

5. Because there are materials helping me understand my condition, as well as others'.

6. Because there are so many kind and warm people ready to be here for me, help me and raise my spirits. They want to listen to me. They want to help me.

7. And because I want to help others as well.

Indeed, 7 Cups of Tea.

@Laura. Initially I came because anxiety and panic attacks and depression was overwhelming, and I had no one to support me, then after I connected to a listener, I realized that this was a place I could have people show compass and they did understand me now I keep coming back back because my path gives me a goal and I look forward to guided discussions and posting and reading forums, thank you 7 cups!

I became a member of 7 cups because outside of my medication and therapy I needed a/some groups and therapeutic practices. I visit everyday especially because I am in a bad situation right now and I can't access my therapist right now. She doesn't even know I found 7 Cups and I'm sure she is going to be excited when I tell her and my psychiatrist.

Because I feel defeated, like life isn't worth living. That I am cursed.

The first few times I came back it was because I needed someone to talk to who wasn't my mom or my boyfriend. I talk to both of them a lot and they help me a great deal, but sometimes I needed another voice. After a few times I found some friends, I found the community, and I found that my voice seemed to help some people, so I stayed because I found people I care about and people I can help.

this is my first time on this app I've had a great expearence with it so far their is a lot of kind people I like the fact that theirs a lot of group chats you can go in and talk to and I also like how you can talk to a listener it helps a lot and I'm glad that you don't have to pay to talk to someone I've been looking for a app like this for years and I finally found it so I won't be leaving.
