My #1 tip, link or suggestion for all new 7 Cups users is.....
@Laura
Dear Newcomers,
Welcome to the 7Cups community!
Firstly, let me just say what an incredible thing it is you are doing by taking the first step to either receive the support you need and deserve, or giving support to others. Regardless of whatever reason you may be here for, it's great to have you here!
One thing I will say to new Members is just keep exploring the community until you find what is right for you. The amazing thing about 7Cups is that you can receive support through connecting 1-1 with a Listener, talking to others who may be going through the same or similar situations within the Group Support chats, or you can chat right here in the Forums under the appropriate section. Just find whichever part you find most comfortable and try to make friends!
Have fun exploring the community!
My biggest piece of advice.... lean in
@Laura what does that mean?
Don't be afraid to be yourself, open up, and talk to the community. c: Everyone is really nice here and I hope that you enjoy the community. <3
Explore the site! Find out what areas you like.
@Laura new 7cups users - ask questions! I know it can be embarrassing but I promise every single one of us would be more than happy to answer your questions
respect your own rythm, and get it respected! <3
listeners are there for you and have to respect you and your rythm. dont feel pressured
@Laura
It is very helpful to use the search box to specify the listener you are looking for. The "Verified listener" and "Long-term listener" tabs are two very helpful categories on the search box. If you do not feel comfortable with a listener, move on quickly. Building trust and rapport with a listener takes time, so manage your expectations carefully. Most importantly do not give up, there are many great listeners. All the best :)
be yourself!
also check your notifications and don't be shy to post on the forums. great to have everyone here. hugs!
@Laura - what a good question... I would have to say my number one tip for new listeners is to be open minded. It can be challenging at times, but it usually has very positive effects.
Don't try to get around the rules like so many people on here have done they are there for a reason.
