My intro
I'm 16 yr. Old, studying in 12th standard, preparing for JEE. I don't have many friends to talk too, so looking forward to get some friends who really cares about me and want to listen to me. I love music and space. Wanted to be an aerospace engineer in the future. If any of you have similar backgrounds or field you can guide me it would be really helpful.
Hey, I saw your thread and wanted to reach out. I always wanted to become a lawyer and I’m a currently preparing for CLAT examinations. I would love to get to know you if you are ok with that. Welcome to 7 cups btw :)
@Disha8906 I am 16 year old too. but i am starting grade 11. But i am feeling really low and sometimes i feel i am being pushed on edge. I have no friends. I rarely talked to anyone in class 10. My classmates used to admire me in class 9 but for last year, it feels that i am being blown back in dust. Now i think i might not be able to score more than 90% in 10 boards. Sometimes I just want to cry in dark with no one around me. I like singing, programming and learning German. but i am not able to open my Germany book. My dream is to study in Frankfurt. Because I had a German friend in grade 4 to 6. He told me all about his city. he later died in a car accident on a highway to Jaipur. Since then, I have no friends.
My parents are making my admission to PW coaching center in Chandigarh. Demanding me to clear IIT JEE exam. When I tell them that I want to study In Germany, They said that I am a coward. For me boards exams are not over yet. I am being constantly asked to outperform my neighbor, who made into IIT. If I would be free, I would just run in city. I would go to my crush's house and shout that I like her. then I would just sing my favorite song "Wherever I Go" (OneRepublic) for her. then i'll go to Bank of Beas river and swim for hours. Then I'll come home and complete my never ending website's code. (sometimes its really frustrating)
But this is all imagination. I will never see her again. because she is going to Shimla to study. its been three years watching her but i never told her because i don't know how to say these type of things to someone and also I have more important things than her. Its heartbreaking to see all of this, but what can i do about this. also my family is not also great.
My mother locked me for 5 hours because I made a *** account. my Mother is a high school principal and sometimes it feels like my responsibility to outperform her school's top performers.
right now it feels like I am a burden on others. I badly messed up my Maths board exam. I lost 9 marks. Now it feels like my parents don't know I am what a type of jerk. And they push me to do that IIT exam. Sometimes I feel worthless. Sometimes I feel so much sadness that I cannot get up from bed until someone pulls me up. I can clearly sense that i am losing my thinking power and let me tell you, its pretty terrifying for a student.
Nobody Really wants to talk to me. they say that i am a weird person. Once I tried to tell my female classmate what I was feeling in september. She thought that I am stalking her and told to everybody in class. I just cried from inside. I remember, my German friend never made fun of me in front of others. But now, everybody just hates me. I kind of also hate myself. I don't like my face and body. I am constantly criticized by parents for being lazy. My parents never understand me. I feel lonely most of time. Sometimes to escape all of this, I sleep a lot, whishing I never wake up again.
I don't know why I wrote this much long story and probably no one including you will ever understand me. But, I am feeling a bit better now.
Hey buddy don't worry I'm with you. I know parents loves us but sometimes they do things that really broke our hearts. I was not so great in studies too, and if you are worried about your 10th grades just don't because no one is interested in your results the next day. Like i recieved many calls on the day of result but now no one talks about them like i joined aakash for coaching and trust me none of my classmate or teacher asked me how much i scored in 10.
And about carrier, you should do what you love i know it is hard, what do you think my parents are happy because I'm preparing for JEE no they are not.
Why?? Because they wanted me to choose arts and prepare for upsc instead but i never planned for going in government jobs like once i said that i want to become an ias officer but i just said that at the moment i don't really meant it. What i want to become is an engineer. Preparing for JEE many times i got low marks actually i failed every 300 marks exam but none of the time they support or motivate me but instead make me more tense by saying how will you clear jee, you have to take drop or stuff. I also dreams of continuing my further studies abroad or for job purposes but i know they will never allow me. They still don't know what engineering i want to do, because everytime i talked to them about this topic they seem so uninterested that it just ruins my mood.
About friends any stuff, you will gonna meet so many people like your classmate so be careful and aware of them, finding good friends is hard but i know one day you will find a friend just like your german friend (RIP).
I just want to say that think clearly what you want to do and try to convince your parents that you can do it. No matter what field you choose you can always talk to me if you need any help academics or normal stuff.
Don't worry 10th is just the first step 11th is a whole damn rollercoaster so be prepared for it. And if you want to know more about this 11th aur JEE journey let me know. I will be so grateful to help.

You will grow out of this. I was at similar position. You will learn not to care about parents opinions and other peoples opinions. You will learn that you can have good career even if you are not from iit and it can be really satisfying.
@LoveMyPeople Thank You
@LoveMyPeople Welcome to 7cups. Welcome to the family. We are so glad to have you here. Thank you, for becoming a listener here.
Hey bud when read that i understood what you must have gone through and i appreciate you for having the courage to say this. If you have any problem at any time you can come to me and let it all out i will be glad to help you out. And hey let me tell you a secret something about the marks that you score in 10th.
Years from now you wont even remember how much you scored and if your parents do pressure you just ask them one thing ' mom,dad even if i did score the preferable marks but i could not wake up next morning (may that never happen) would you still be happy for my result. The point is life is too short to be stressed about these things yes marks are important but what if we lose everything else in the process. So i would say you do your best and dont overdo it give some time to yourself and talk to people go out just enjoy. And even if you gotta sneak through your parents😁 (i did that a lot) just make some memories bud.
Hey I just read your story don't worry this time shall pass as for now I feel you must have given the boards .
Sometimes parents pushes too hard but just remember they love you if you will be firm on your decision they have to agree anyway. Just relax everything will be fine

Hey fellow! I just discovered your thread and tbh i got a reflection of my past in your words! Those feelings of incompleteness, dissatisfaction, unhappiness and being useless is something that every indian student face in their life at some point maybe because we all are bound with these social and cultural strings which doesn't allow many of us to respond in our own way! I also used to thing that my parents doesn't understand me at all (though it's still the same!) when they didn't allowed me to pursue my dream saying that I'm in someone's else influence and that's why I'm saying it! It's not like i didn't tried to convince them but somehow i couldn't make it work in my favour! That timeline was really disappointing and pathetic for me and just like you, my thoughts were also rebellious at that time like i also thought of shouting at my crush that i like them!! Lol, I can't even imagine the consequences of that now...that would be really too much to handle! But i kept me to myself only and ended up accepting everything at its own pace that i encountered in my life so far. And to tell you, I'm satisfied with my life now because i learned a life lesson from all those ups and downs of my life and i would like to share it with you, with a hope that you will understand your worth! You know, one can't always be lucky but you can try your luck to convince your parent and i wholeheartedly wish that you succeed in it but if they didn't understood you then what? Giving up the life! Is it an answer? No! Believe me, it would feel like an answer but it's never gonna be one! Then what?
"If I'm unlucky, that's okay! Because I'm strong enough that i passed the "giving up" test of my life! I'll make myself lucky with everything that life is gonna throw at me, i will prove to everyone that I'm not useless, outcast or incompetent in any way!"
These are the exact word i used to repeat everyday and truly they helped me to cope up with every discomfort and turn it around in my own way. I'm not saying you should also give up on your dream like i did...i did it because i had no choice at that time but you are not me! So build up yourself to face a hundreds of new challenges because it's just a beginning of your life, a turning point! I still have so many things to say but i think it's enough for now and i hope you got my point. Just know your worth friend, nothing else matters than that! 💫
(P.s.:- I must had given up on my dream but i ended up pursuing something different from what they want me to do! Lmao, Btw both of my parents are teachers and it's a huge responsibility to have them!)
Goodluck for your preparation

Welcome to 7 Cups and good luck with JEE!! I gave it a few years ago as well, it was a nightmare lol, probably one of my lowest periods in life. If you ever need help, be it emotional or otherwise, feel free to reach out!!
Aerospace engineering sounds so cool, I really wanted to try it (I looooooooooove space as well lol) but honestly I suck at physics and maths so it was probably not the right stream for me. I hope you get it!
What are some of your interests within space?
