Hi! So glad you ran into this thread- it seems as though self harm is an issue of yours.

i cannot tell you not to self harm- you are obviously going through a very rough time and you have found a way to work through it. Though i want to stress- please take care of yourself afterwards.

if you have been crying- take a shower or atleast wash your face.

if you have been cutting- please clean the wound up and bandage it- get yourself medical help if you feel like it's bleeding too much

Otherwise- here are some things you can do instead of hurt yourself!

Read, go for a run, take a shower (take the rasors out first), write the names of people who would miss you, write your thoughts down, call up your parents or a close friend. listen to upbeat happy songs

Remember guys, i love you so much and you shouldn't feel bad for hurting yourself- its a way that you regulate your emotions. however there are so many ways to prevent it. I love you all, please feel free to message me if you need to vent or talk.

Byeeeee x

It seems to me that this post contains a lot of advice. Listeners at 7 Cups must remember not to give advice, even though at times it can seem difficult not to give advice.

Our listener training makes it clear:

Active Listening is not:

× Trying to solve the person's problems
× Giving solutions or advice
× Changing the subject
× Sharing your own opinions

The need to avoid giving advice has always been problematic for some listeners at 7 Cups, and it's one of the things mentors can help with.
