@ShadowFaerie

I'm very nervous because I just finished an interview.  I need to unwind now.

@ShadowFaerie

Thank you, Faerie.  It was odd because of complicated things I was told.

Mine has been ABIT difficult, just old feelings resurfacing, making me see, I have some pent up anger to deal with.

It's ABIT tiring and confusing 💚

I started a new role in my career on Monday as a Clinical Instructor. This week is Orientation week for my six students. I'm loving it, but I have not talked so much in 7 hours time before! I was so afraid I'd lose my voice by the end of the week, as I'm still recovering from a cold I caught 2 weeks ago during my vacation. My first day, I refilled my water bottle three times, and the volume of my bottle is 25oz! Luckily, I should be finishing up my Orientation by the end of tomorrow (Thursday), and I can pair my students with a staff member (the one-on-one buddy system) by Friday and onwards. So, all I'll need to do is observe my students shadowing the staff member, as they learn the practical skills. Except there may be days where I'll need to have one or two students follow me, as there may not be enough staff for me to pair each one of them with. At the end of today, my students did say that they are ready to learn the ropes of the department through the buddy system. So, they will be officially introduced to the staff on Friday. (They have already met with the Management Team on Monday and Tuesday, I just haven't introduced them to the rest of the staff yet).

Teaching had been a secondary dream career of mine. So, despite of how my working hours are longer now, meaning I need to leave my house an hour earlier than my usual working time, in order to catch the last train, and arrive at the Hospital an hour before my class starts (so I have time to prepare any paperwork that is needed, as a show-and-tell). Since this is a dream career, despite the longer hours, and that I'm more active with the teaching (talking a lot more, repeating myself many times, walking around a lot), I do not feel tired during those 7 hours. It is usually on the ride home, or the moment I step out of the Hospital, it is then, when the tiredness hits me. So, I'm all active and energized during the ride to work, and throughout the 7 hours of Clinical. Nearly 11 hours of the day, I'm energized, because I love what I do. It is not tiring. I guess that is why, at the end of the class, and my brain tells me that I'm done with the day, that is when my body relaxes and the tiredness kicks in. By the time I get home, it's just past 7pm, and my eyes will start getting tired by 9pm.

@Jaeteuk

I'm thrilled to hear how much you're enjoying teaching and your career! It's awesome when you're so excited and passionate about what you're doing that you go through your day feeling energized. I'm not surprised that once your day ends, you're left feeling exhausted.

Take good care of yourself during your off hours, get the rest and relaxation you need to keep starting fresh each day and week, so you can continue loving your new roles at work.
