Talking to someone about your problems can be absolutely terrifying at times. I know when I use to get bombarded with depression and anxiety, I would be so afraid to go and talk to someone, because I thought they were going to rip me to pieces and throw me deeper into the hole that I was already in. For me that was the hardest step in talking to someone. The fear. Surpassing that was the biggest and most essential step for me to be able to open up to someone, because once I did everything came pouring out and it was SO easy to talk to that person. It can still be scary to talk to new people since I've never talked to them about it before, but after pushing and reassuring myself that it would be okay, that person becomes someone that you can not only talk to, but that person becomes someone that has a good chance at becoming my friend :)

7cups is the perfect place for you! Almost everyone on here is dedicated to a personal cause and wants to help you out. Don't get discouraged if a listener you talk to doesn't help or doesn't seem like they have the right words. Either they aren't a good match (and there is plenty of other listeners who can help if not) or they need more time to get to know you and your situation. Don't give up hope and continue to try to find your niche/listener in a community that's really geared towards helping you out!

Suppressing your emotions might cause you more pain than the bad feelings you already have. Some people choose to keep their problems private to themselves and the result is usually an increase in the intensity of the bad feelings.
Talking to someone about your problems might not only help you solve your problems but it will also help you vent the bad feelings you have and so you will experience a great relief. Suppressed emotions on the other hand can result in mood swings, bad dreams, waking up feeling depressed and prolonged sadness.

Sharing your problems is always a good idea. It is unburdening if anything. You can either talk to someone you trust or talk to a listener here on 7 cups. Follow up chats may result in a better bond and can help you feel comfortable with them and allow yourself to open up more.
