In my experience thus far, the emptiness only temporarily goes away. It is always there, lurking in the shadows, waiting to attack when you least expect it. Will is ever go away? Possibly, eventually, but I feel it is something people battle with their whole lives.

Absolutely, the void that you fill hasn't always been there, so it won't always be there. There are no real voids, just a lack of something you had, once that thing is no longer missed, a new love, a new passion, a new experience will change your focus and take your mind off the thing that was lost.

As long as you want the emptiness to go away, it will. You just need to keep your head up and realize everythings going to be alright.

So far to me, the emptiness never goes away. I struggled with depression and anxiety. I believe people can get stronger. :)

Feelings of emptiness will eventually go away. Nothing is forever, I can assure you. Emotions feel larger than they really are.

Take some time to care for yourself. Do something, anything, even the tiniest of gestures that makes you feel good. The emptiness won't vanish all at once. It might be a long struggle. But one positive thing at a time will help you to overcome it if you keep trying. Remind yourself of your successes and strengths, especially when you think you have none.

Yes. It doesn't seem like it will at times, but speaking from experience, it gets better. You meet people who make you feel good about yourself or you find something new you love that fills your life with happiness or a lot of things just add up and you slowly make your way through the emptiness. I know it's hard to believe, but you will. It's not easy, but it'll happen. Just hang in there

It may feel like this empty feeling is permanent and it may feel like this is your life from now on, but it will fade. It is not something that is going to happen overnight, it is not something that you can fix just like that. It will take time. But it does not mean that you will not get there. You will get there. Take everyday one step at a time. Pain is temporary. You can do this.

I cannot say that it will ever really be gone, but what you can do is learn to fill it. It takes strength and courage to try to get past feeling empty, but when you find something you love and you take pleasure in it, you will feel less empty. Allow yourself to appreciate and enjoy the smaller things in life, and build up from there. I have had experience with self harm, and you can take my word for it: it is not the way forward. I would recommend telling people how you're feeling; when i began to be more open in this way, i was surprised and inspired by the amount of people who cared and showed support. I promise you that you are stronger than you think and if you want to get past the emptiness, you will find a way to do it that is right for you. Don't lose hope.

Emptiness can seem like it will go on forever, but usually it will start to get better and with time you will be happy. You will begin to make friends. It might not ever fully go away but with time you will be happy.

I have gone through Depression and still do. I know what it feels like to be empty. I know what it feels like to have no feelings, and just feel like you are just living life on auto-pilot. Now, to answer your question, "is the emptiness ever going to go away", unfortunately, I'm not Allah/God, and so I can't tell you what will or will not happen. I also don't want to instill false positivity in you. Can you try and let it go away? Well, you can only try so hard and no more. You have to try and push yourself through the storm, every, single, day. It doesn't matter how hard it gets, as long as you try, things should work out for the better. 😊

It depends on how you decide to fill that empty space. Fill it with love and happiness, it may disappear, but fill it with hate and resentment, you may remain empty.

It can. Emptiness is something that can always, always, be filled with something. Sometimes that is really difficult and sometimes it goes easily, but filling it up is a choice. To fill it up, you should realise what caused in the first place, how it affects you and why, why you want it to go away and what your options are to manage it. But yes, it can go away.

It can't go away from being ignored. If anyone ignores their emptiness, it will lose its substance, and then it will become a pit. It can't go away completely in my opinion. But we can synthesize it being gone.

Emptiness is a feeling, one that can be very hard to get out of. It can't rain forever unless you want it too. Ask yourself how long it has been going on, go through your past, however painful it might be and try and find the reason to why you feel this way, and then ask yourself what you can do to change.
