Is it appropriate to send a friend request to ex?

...See more I haven't seen or heard from her since January. We had to end the relationship because she could not forgive me for accidentally overdosing her 19-year-old cat. I care so deeply still, but it seems like I have to continue to let her heal.

...See more Would you forgive someone for accidentally overdosing your 18-year-old dog with their medication? As a result of this accident, the dog had to be euthanized. This person was a loving and caring individual who took on the responsibility of being the primary caregiver in the relationship. They took on a multitude of responsibilities and ensured their partner's happiness. They loved that dog so much and spent time every day with them. They were perfect and made life worth living again, but they are being called a murderer for their mistake.

...See more I was in a long-term relationship and I became the caregiver. They had a lot of animals and various health conditions. I adapted because I loved them. They were able to live a happier life because I showed them that they deserve it. There were better relationships with family and they were just bubbly. Things were great, but there was an accident involving an animal that resulted in the passing. The guilt and shame I feel regarding the situation haunt me every day. I took accountability for my actions, but it wasn't enough. I respect that and care deeply. I know I need to forgive myself for what I did and the trauma I caused. It's just so hard because I love them and still care. How can I manage these emotions?

...See more Hello all, I am struggling with not reaching out to my ex partner. We were dating for a year and lived together. I made a mistake of overdosing her cat. It's been 7 months since I've seen her and 3 months since we've spoken. She was responsive but felt like I pushed too hard when I asked if she was ok and called her several hours apart. Last she said was "Leave me alone, you are acting psycho."

...See more I have surgery on April 2nd, and I've been telling friends and family. I was in a relationship last year that lasted well over one year. My mistake in giving her 19-year-old cat an earlier dose of her medication resulted in having to euthanize her the day the relationship ended. It's been seven months since I've seen her. But we sort of stay in touch.. the last time I spoke to her. I called her twice because I was concerned. |texted her to make sure she was ok. But she told me to leave her alone. That was February and we haven't spoken since. I want to tell her that I will be having surgery, but I don't think it's the right move because she might think I'm asking for pity.

...See more I accidentally gave my ex's 19-year-old cat an earlier dose of her medication which caused her to have to be euthanized the next day. I was taking care of my ex by letting her sleep in after her infusion. It was a mistake and she believes I murdered her.

Help figuring out next steps for my relationship

...See more I was in a relationship for a year and everything was good. My partner and I lived together. She has a lot of animals and loves nature. Her health issues had an effect on what she was able to do. I showed her that there were possibilities and we did so much together. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of giving her 19 a 19-year-old cat and an earlier dose of her medication. Although the vet and her family told me that my mistake did not kill her cat, of course, I fully take the blame and accountability. I was told to stay with my family until she was ready to talk to me. I was depressed and tried to reach out to check in. But she had a friend's wedding and other things. I spoke to her best friend about it and he told me that the situation was not fair because she has a habit of dragging things out. The cat was old. I was upset by what he said and decided to pack all of my belongings and give the keys in. I didn't feel like things were going to be the same. I understand and acknowledge that my behavior was not the best. I never showed up at her house without her knowledge and tried my best to give her space. I asked for my belongings from her other house, but didn't get a date so I became frustrated. I care deeply about her and still do. I rented out a room and have been working towards rebuilding. I have been able to pick up my mail with her present. She would have panic attacks if I were around even if she didn't see me. Things have calmed down, and we went our separate ways, but I feel like she has left the door open to our relationship because she tells me that she isn't ignoring my texts. I'm trying not to be stuck. Not seeing her for about four months after spending a year with her has been challenging. I'd like help with what I should be doing next with my life. Please no judgment.
