34 year old who is trying to learn that its ok to be myself but i need to learn to think before i speak.
Hello everyone
I'm 30, Male. I've been single for 10 months. I'm happiest when in a relationship so would be searching for my 'happily ever after' if the pandemic hadn't locked down the world. I'm 18 months clean, teetotal, sober and free of addiction. I'm 1 month into a new weight loss regime where I'm aiming to reach my ideal weight within 8 months (36 weeks). I've lost 10lbs so far and want to lost a further 60lbs. So, by next April (2021), I hope to be my target weight and then I would also hope to start dating to find my future wife. I've never been married and don't have children. I believe I would love children one day when the time is right. I hope to be married and on the way to having kids by the time I am 35. So I'm giving myself 5 years there.
The pandemic saw me lose my dream job so I would hope that might return perhaps next year since I had worked towards it for 15 years. However, a new dream job opened up that I may not have found and still remains within my dream career idea. So things are good.
I've adapted to a lot of change and transition and transformation in the past 10 months and am ready for my new chapter in this life book to begin. I managed to fully heal all my past trauma, grief, pain, suffering, heartbreak, etc, it seems. I also managed to reach a much healthier lifestyle and sobriety as well as working on my health in this new diet and exercise plan.
so that's my current life in a nutshell - nice to meet you all
@SilverbackTiger P.S. oh, I've struggled with Bi-Polar Disorder for 15 years, PTSD, as well as OCD, insomnia, social anxiety, high-functioning autism, severe depression and at times, suicidal ideation. I've experienced drug addiction while trying to self-Medicate (bad idea) and alcoholism as well as binge eating. I believe everything may well fall under the category of Bi-Polar though since I've done a lot of research over the years and things like this do overlap.
i like to believe I am past a lot of this now. The bi-polar will remain and I'm just learning to manage it much better now. My 18 months of teetotal, clean sobriety, and my first month of an 8 month diet and exercise regime has showed me how much a healthier lifestyle can help the above conditions
just turned 39!
strange feeling. im lonely
@plumSea9879 well happy birthday! I think a lot of people are feeling that way lately. But birthdays just have a way of bringing up reflections and weird feelings, don't they?
I will be 30 next month. I hope that counts. Haha
@lovingBranch5624 I'd say it does! 😬
39 here I'm honestly more capable being single than in a relationship. Mean I'm lonely don't get me wrong, I just function better single than in a relationship it's just odd.
34 year old new mom..... I am finding it very difficult to deal with the loneliness and anxiety that I am experiencing due to covid. I cannot go anywhere because I am scared to take my baby out in public. I often spend days alone with my baby because my husband has a sleeping disorder..... he stays up all night most nights and doesn't get tired until 5-6am, so he is asleep most of the day. I just feel so lonely and stuck. I have never felt this before, I've always been a happy person. 😞
Hello
Hi, I'm a 32 year old single female who recently dated someone who was dishonest and manipulative who turned out to be a highly narcissistic indivdiual. I feel so betrayed. Now I feel just plain loneliness all the time wondering how I was looking for love and ended up finding such evil. I've spent the past decade trying to improve and work on myself as I found out that I have been dealing with adhd and anxiety all my life. It's been such a hard journey and somedays it feels like I don't have any strength to go on. I know I'm slightly depressed but I also know it has to do with not having someone like me who gets me in my life. Some days I feel so scared and vulnerable and don't know how to keep going...especially during this pandemic.
Hello, I just turned 39. I'm married and have three teenagers. I work full time and go to school, but I find that work really hurts my mental health more than helps it. I spent a lot of time out of the work force raising my children, then decided to become an employed member of society 5 years ago. I have really struggled at times. People are mean and down right cruel and sometimes don't deserve to be trusted. I believe myself to be kind and generous and I don't like to judge people, even though I'm my own harshest critic. I have a terribly difficult time making friends and having conversations. I don't like sharing things about myself personally as I feel they will use it against me or they will just not care. This really makes my anxiety and depression bad cause I have no one to talk to and feel so lonely and I try so hard hard not to have suicidal ideations. The people I have tried to trust with my feelings have ruined that trust. I really don't know where to turn.

Hi everyone! And big shoutout to the lovely leaders tagged above! So glad to join this lovely community. I'm 32, gonna be turning 33 in November. :) I'm a fairly new listener but have loved this community as a member for about 4 years and have encountered all these leaders before. :D I especially love the 35+/50+/student/career chats - such great hosts, people, and helpful info. <3
I'd love to chat with any listeners here that may want to be friends or twins, just to chat about listener stuff together, our lives, or about our commonalities (check out my profile for my little bio). Just for fun! (I must admit I am disabled due to mental illness and currently unemployed but looking for work. So that's a big insecurity of mine and why I haven't made any friends IRL. So just want to mention that up front.) Feel free to message me if interested. :D
Also just to add: I'm single, no kids. But I do have a fiancé, we've been together since 2017. I'm low-income, so no plans for wedding yet. Would like to save up money first. I'm a total introvert, not very social in particular due to COVID :(
