Hello Everyone....

I am Jedi. I am 48 and did not realize we had to post a blurb about ourselves. First, I am a Christian. Second I am a seminary student working on his master's. I am a former glider pilot before I was diagnosed with my disability. I have been married to my wife for over 5 years.

Recently I failed one of my courses at school and as this is the third course I have failed, I need to take some time to reflect and debrief. My undergrad was in architecture and I feel a strong compunction to do a master's in that field instead.

I am a lifelong learner.

Please pray for my wife and I. She is in school too for nursing.

Hi,

I am 45. Usually a lively person, I am finding myself too anxious these days. Awaiting menopause, so maybe the hormones going haywire. Feeling exhausted and powerless over situations most of the time. Trying to put up a smile like everything is fine.

Life isn't bad. But I don't understand why I am anxious most of the time. Is it just a phase?

So, do you have any interests or hobbies? Things to occupy the mind help i find. Although seen my share of self imposed isolation. Things that make you happy....

Hi Everyone,

My name is Emily, but everyone calls me Emmy. Im 45 years old, have been married for 27 years, and have two grown children. Ive suffered from depression and anxiety most of my life but have been able to control it with the right medication. However, it seems to be getting worse as I get older. I would love to have some friends to talk to that understand what I am going through.

Hi Emmy 👋 Hope you're well today , I've joined 7cups for the same reason really. I've had anxiety off and on since being a teenager (I'm 40 now) I have been on medication in the past but currently am not. I don't really talk to anyone about my anxiety so like you said it'd be great to talk to people who are going through the same thing! smiley

Do you find being off medication things can get difficult. But then you also feel more healthy and alive beibg drug free. I was prescribed a drug and it basiclly turned me into a zombie. But im drug free for over a year now and while the bad days are bad, its good to have all my senses back....😊

yes , some days are difficult not being on medication but I do prefer it as I felt very lethargic and ‘foggy on it.

Do you mind if i ask what kind of medication you take? All drugs have sideeffects and i've had experience of both on and off them....

Hi all, newbie to this thread, I'm 58, showing compassion to myself these days... Do as much as I can, and am grateful. Just fasted for 4 days, and feel really good. Wasn't plzed about having to move to a city, n gave up for a year, just signed a new lease and making it a home.... it's been invigoratating, . Have to pace, as have degenerated disc disease.... but moving and feeling joy and the apartment is all torn up, from not caring.... Now, doing some organizing, moving furniture around and pictures up.... I'm really liking the looks I'm creating... feeling like home.... grateful, n pleased. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

Hi, all. I'm 49 but that's not why I've been depressed lately. I lost both my parents over the last 10 months and it has brought me to the kind of low point I thought I had left behind. I'm trying to lift myself out of it but not having much joy. I was hoping to connect with people who get it.

@BigWhisky So sorry to hear of the loss of both your parents.<3 n hugs....losing one parent I know takes so long, the grieving tho different for everyone takes such along time. I cannot imagine losing both in the same year... My personal experience was Time. There so set time, just time... The saying Time heals on wounds did not apply for me... Tho, once moving through the grieving period for me, which took ever so long. I got some semblance of a my old routine, I not rush anything, short goals and then more as time passed.... Joy? It's a different type of to know, I am happy and experience JOy, tho a part of me, will and does and will to continue to not experience the joy of having my parents here with me. Ic wish you the best and you too will experience Joy again, tho for me It is just experienced as intensely tho their loss was always be missed with in me... Take care and my deepest condolences for your losses

Thank you, @jessie777. Time really is the great healer, I know. I think the worst part is that I was starting to make my peace with my father's passing and then my mother passed. It knocked me right off my feet again, and I haven't got much left to deal with it.

But, as you say, time. And having places like this, where people understand.
