🌿 What Does ‘Self-Care’ Look Like for You Lately? 🌿
Self-care isn’t always bubble baths and candles (though those are great too! 🛁🕯️). Sometimes, it’s as simple as getting out of bed, saying no, or making time for something you love. 💬💖
✨ What’s one thing you’ve been doing lately to care for yourself - even if it’s just getting through the day?
Let’s share ideas, support one another, and maybe even pick up a few new self-care habits. 💡🤗
Recently I have been letting myself lie in bed for longer if I had a bad dream, and I'm listening to what my subconscious is trying to tell me through my dreams, and it's helping me to feel much better instead of dragging myself out of bed and feeling really upset most of the day.
I like different things, pampering is the standard I guess, something simple like taking the time to use a face brush, giving myself a scalp massage is a delight.
Other times switching off my phone, checking in with myself, How are you doing? Not good ok.
Sometimes a chitchat helps, a lil vent. A romcom or Married At First Sight cracks me up.
Music or asmr is good too. I think the best thing for me is stepping away from others and saying in this moment, What do I need? Not others, you.
Oh and gaming, I get lost in it and then I can breathe again and tackle whatever comes my way :)
Hey @elekhika
Yes, I’m trying to self care at the moment.
One of my self care things I’ve doing is letting myself sleep in sometimes, especially when it’s cold & raining outside. I find it comforting & restful.
The other thing I do is walk to the local shopping centre & have my favourite smoothie, lunch 🥗 & then go to my favourite coffee shop & buy my favourite coffee. ☕️
I also like to go for walks.🚶♀️
These are just a few of things I do to care for myself lately.
I think it’s very important to make time for something you love to do.
What about you, what do you do for yourself? 🌻💕

Self compassion. I know I've made bad choices in the past. I'm human after all. I wanna acknowledge them and put it all behind me!!

The whole self care thing for me is so upside down compared to most. It's either helping someone else or sharing an experience with them. I don't hate being myself but I mean I'm always with myself so why would I choose to just go take a bath by myself. Everything is better with a friend. Life to me is the best when I don't take it so seriously. Self care to me is to not let everything destroy your character. The part of you that the world needs. To show them there is something different than constant stress.
Allowing myself to read for pleasure. I love fiction, but I stopped reading it because I felt guilty for not reading something “productive.”
Going on walks outside, even if I dread it sometimes. I always feel better when I get to see other ppl living and enjoying life. Usually the days I don’t want to go are the days when I see a cute stray cat, beautiful flowers, or a sweet old lady with a happy birthday sash/crown. Something always makes me smile when I get outside :)
