Lost @ 40
I feel so lost and conflicted between knowing what I need to do and having the fortitude to do it. I am stuck in my own head constantly playing out all scenarios of any decision I make that I end up punting on everything. It is a terrible feeling being at an age when the perception is we should “have it together” but man I don’t! Being survival mode for as long as I have been is catching up to me and I am not sure what’s next.
Someday has yet to come and I don’t know how to level up without “burning it down”.

there is no set age or time we should have it together... Each person is on a different path and faces different things. I feel you are aware of the self-sabotage is more than many people i have know people who did similar but could never face they punted.
most items in life I overthought about and punted most likely would not have been so bad. and so at a certain point I just quit punting.

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling.
I think it's easy to feel pressured by outside expectations of what you're life is "supposed" to be like at a certain point, for certain reasons, but that's just an excuse for people to judge others for their own benefit.
Sounds to me like you're stuck, buddy, and I also know a lot about feeling stuck.
Anything stopping you from making some changes? Big, small, short term, long term...it doesn't really matter what or how much. It just seems like you're in a space you need to break out of, and beating your hands on the wall isn't working.
Good luck. Stay strong. Love is all.
I’m totally stuck, I have a lot of tangible obstacles along side healthy portion of guilt and fear holding me back. It’s not a fun point in my life but I’m working on it, very slooooooooowly.
I hear you. I think we'll both get there. It just takes time.
I feel the same way!!! I’m going through *** in divorce and I thought I had it all figured out but everything I do or say or try just doesn’t land can’t do anything that works in my favor. Why!? I dunno sometimes I think maybe I have adult ADHD. How long have you been struggling? May I ask what you do for work? I’m freaked out about this new world we live in and I don’t know I’m going to support myself
This particular struggle has been 7-9 years depending on where I count it as starting. I actually recently got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult it is pretty weird but explains a lot.
I work shipping/receiving as a primary job but I also work retail and seasonal landscaping. As for what works I couldn’t tell you as I said I’m in survival mode. I wish you the best what your going through is not easy.
