What would you do?
If someone offered you a pill and said "You will lose you memory of bad things that happened to you, you will forget about relationships and people that hurt you, and you will get to start a new life somewhere else without those memories" would you take that pill?
I've already thought of this. I'd say no, because I have dpdr and every day could be taking that pill whether you like it or not. There's nothing scarier than searching for *your* memories, bad or not, and coming up and feeling blank and unreal.
@zeetee17
I wouldn't. My memories are a part of who I am. I need to have learned from them to be wise.
@zeetee17
Great question. This really got me thinking about what I’d do.
I wouldn’t take the pill and the reason for this is that I don’t want to ever change what I’ve learned. Some good, some bad…but without these experiences it wouldn’t make me the person I am.
On a positive note I’ve got through this far (thankfully) and will continue to push through, learn and grow.

@zeetee17
depends on mood if bad state its a yes If not its a no
Basically, what they are saying is, this pill will take u heaven :)
@zeetee17
yes I would take the pill
@zeetee17 I'd take that pill right away
Zeetee17, I would absolutely take that pill. I have experienced a lot of bad things in my life. Childhood trauma, bullying, work life, and relationships. I would love to start a new life without those memories. :) Great question!
In a heartbeat.
No, but I can certainly think of situations where it would be useful, especially if what is forgotten is really specific.
For my past and the specific memories I have from it though, it's not really meeting the hypothetical criteria I can guess for ethical use.
