Challenge ideas for the 50 plus community
Challenge ideas
This week I thought we would do something a little different and ask you as a community on some ideas on what you would like to see for future challenges to help the community and yourself.
Some ideas we will be working on soon are:
- Self Esteem Challenge
- Self-Love Challenge
- Positivity Challenge
- Self-Care - exercising 3 times a week for 1 month
What other ideas do you all have?

Make your own mantra challenge 🙂
@Zengrl
That is a great idea. I remember doing that a few years ago in a therapy group I attended and totally forgot about that.
@Zengrl I agree that make your own mantra is a great idea. What do you think about calling it your magic word or focus word or grounding word? I think those may be easier for a broader audience to hear.
@Zengrl
Hi Zen! I like the idea of making your own montra.
@DanaMH
Dana, here just some thoughts
Awareness Challenge
Carefulness Challenge Concentration Challenge Confidence Challenge
Eat-well Challenge Emotion regulation Challenge
Fun Challenge
Less Television Challenge
Sleep-well Challenge
Worry-less Challenge
@amiablePeace77
Wow those are all amazing ideas. I think I will fail at the Less Television Challenge but others might succeed in that one thou. LOL
@DanaMH I like the follow your breath challenge. See how many cycles of breathing you go without chasing your thoughts. If you chase a thought no judgement, just come back gently to follow the breath
@soulsings
Great idea - thanks
@DanaMH thanks to everyone - they are all great ideas.
@DanaMH Sign me up for the disabled version if there is one.
Thank you
@feelNeglected77 sorry I am not sure what you mean by sign me up for the disabled version. Could you reword that and specify what you want to sign up for?
@soulsings
I can do the mental excersizes, but Im unable to do the physical challenges. I was looking for possible adjustment ideas to taylor the challenge a little bit for some of us dealing with chronic pain, and disabilities. its ok, i can do the parts i can as they are. 😊
Try new things. Step out of your comfort zone. We're 50 plus, not dead
@mutter3
Love that!
@amiablePeace77 😃
It is not when or how we die that matters, but how we live life consciously and gratefully.
@soulsings- found this old thread - your post touched my heart- once we are gone it is only how we loved that matters
@barncat thanks for your kind words. Yes our expectations have a big effect on how much joy and appreciation we feel.
script on Who are you?, Who do you say you are? and why (strengths & weaknesses)
managing daily chores and tasks when you feel bad, it's ok to take a break
motivating one's self dress up and fix up day just to make your self feel good
reaching out of your comfort zones when you feel like isolating
be silly day, do something fun for a friend, companion. something unexpected
@scarletPear1945 I like those things because they are part of life and that makes it easier for me to start a routine. Thanks for sharing.
@scarletPear1945
I really like what you mentioned particularly the part about doing something silly (in a funny way), something unexpected to get out of the routine and experience excitement.
I find it a challenge to not let my anger take over. I have to monitor my thoughts to prevent myself from saying something I will regret
