Having enough good life skills makes life so much easier. Today's world can become very busy and even hectic and many people look for instant results when for example connecting to the internet or asking a question somewhere. Something I needed to learn in life is the ability to be more patient.

What life skills do you think are rarely taught but extremely useful?
I think we have to go out of our way to learn mindfulness and or meditation. What is amazing is how much they have helped me cope with life.

I can relate soul. Mindfulness and meditation helped me to stay stable in times where I thought everything will just collapse.

I need to learn to rest more, here in America where I am, I find people go on fewer holidays than in Europe. There is a culture of burnout and lack of self care that was established in my childhood, and it seems so many other Americans live this way, always working, hardly resting, and being indiscriminately of service to others (especially if you are a woman like myself).

It is sad to see so many people getting burnout and even more sad that it is more or less considered as normal. I'm glad you became aware of the dangers of it and hope you will rest more in future. What have you done today for self-care?
Hey @amiablepeace77 yes, thank you 🙏🏻 for your response. I am resting a lot today. Read for two hours in the sun, did Peruvian shamanic clearing, and am resting and reading while lying down right now. Thank you again.

I would say self-compassion and self-soothing.
But if we're talking life in general, I'd say home economics (budgeting, cooking, sewing, basic repairs)

Self-compassion and self-soothing are some of the best life skills to me. The others do come in handy though!
