My partner is not as active as they once were, so for me that means a change of lifestyle. The unintended result of that change is I have been more aware of my emotional responses and have been able to direct them in more positive directions.
So what is happening is rather than express anger and frustration, I am expressing joy and uplifting thoughts. It is not changing them a lot, but I feel so much better. My reactions are the one thing I can control.

I don't think so. I guess this is a blessing in disguise. After I was fired, I found out that I get to keep the free vision and dental coverage for 29 months. At least it was free when I worked there. I don't know if it is still free. We'll see. I didn't want to keep the job after it ended in May, but I didn't want to get fired. So I am still waiting to see the blessings in disguise.
@purpleTree4652 if you are in the US there is also the option of applying for unemployment insurance. It is best to apply as soon as possible. In some instances there is a waiting period depending on whether laid off or other reasons.
I was able to keep insurance when I separated from the company but I had to talk to HR and I had to pay the full cost of the insurance. I am glad I checked with HR Human Resources.

This might count. I went to my NAMI Connections group Thursday night, as usual. It meets twice a month. The meeting ended early, which annoyed me. I had things to say. It ended early because NAMI was having its annual meeting to discuss their various business details. As it turned out, my friend who facilitates our twice-a-month meetings is now the president of the local chapter of NAMI. It was announced that night. It doesn't do me any good, but she's happy. It will mean more work for her. She was a board member up until now.

@amiablePeace77 I had a blessing in disguise because I got a really bad grade on one of my recent tests. However, it allowed me to connect to my teacher more and inspired me to study more!

I was in an accident on Good Friday. Still going through the claim process. Not fun. Very complicated. Being without a car in the process of trying to find a ride to get groceries, I made contact with someone in our local garden club. I found out they had a plant sale fundraiser coming up in May so I offered to give them some of my aloe vera babies. The mama plant was full of them. A lady came over and we gently put 'mama' on her side and slid her out. We carefully took out all the babies there was about 25 of them. I took a picture of them laid out that I'll post on my hobby thread later. I kept a few for myself and gave the rest to the club.
I'm so happy that mama and her babies wintered over so well. We took all our plants in and put them under timed grow lights.
I miss gardening. I decided to join the club and find ways to help out and have fun. Might even get some good tips for container gardening. Might help my depression and the feeling of isolation...
