1. How do you feel best supported in hard times?
I need for people to show they care by being there, listening, and acting supportive.
2. What are things which help you to feel comfy?
Hugs, tea, warm blankies, my kitty snuggled up to me
@purpleTree4652 glad you find comfort in hard times
My family and friends checking in on me ❤️ Meeting for drinks and dinner, good conversations. A good book, listening to the birds sing, sunny 🌞 days and sitting in my Sun Room being grateful for the day🌷☀️🥰
@placidPlum3193 wow sitting in your sunroom. Sounds wonderful.
When things work out a little. When I have hope and time with my man and I together.
Sunny days, working and getting creative things done. Helping my animals have a better life. Loving all puppy girls and snuggling with them. Spending time relaxing in my special areas where everything is golden, pretty and relaxing, feeling every breeze, hearing the birds or wind and seeing things in fluffy clouds.
@Nickie2442 fluffy clouds are a sign of fair weather.
@Nickie2442
Hi, we agree that it is so nice when we have some hope and some things do work out. That right there makes a whole lot of difference.
It also seems like a wonderful, beautiful place where you and your hubby live, with wonderful great outdoor beauty!!!!
@Amelia2324
Thank you!!
How do you feel best supported in hard times? In no way at all
What are things which help you to feel comfy? Only in about 6 diff days in FL weather, up under a nice blanket
@Amelia2324
You mentioned "Not at all" about best supported. I'm not sure how you meant this but if it must be very rough if it means you do not feel supported at all, hugs. Dealing with all the challenges without having anyone to turn to is hard. I hope coming here will help .
Comfy blanket sounds nice.
@amiablePeace77
Thank you. coming here is helping in some ways with you ami, and @soulsling or @soulsings. I appreciate you and all the others here. I just took it to mean totally away from there, in life. I appologize for not giving credit where credit is due. Hugs
I feel supported when I know someone cares about what I am dealing with, and shows a little empathy so I know I am not totally alone. Something that makes me feel comfortable is a long shower, letting my worries go for a short time.
@Lauren63
I hear you Lauren, one of the worst things is feeling totally alone when going through rough times. I hope you will always find the support you need here
.
Long warm showers are awesome!
@Lauren63
We agree with you about it is so helpful when someone will take the time to care and then when they also show some true empathy, that is even better. We love how you said that you get in the nice shower and let go of things. We also like that. A nice shower feels so good for our bodies and mind and we do come out feeling so much better. So glad to know that you feel all of these wonderful things.
@Lauren63 I hear you. Always good to see you in discussions.
How do you feel best supported in hard times?
Telephone calls from long lost friends.Long chats with inner circle of friends and relatives.
GIft of money from older relatives and parents.
My wife pays most of the expenses.
What are things which help you to feel comfy?
Stuffed animals, wife's hug and prayers, mother's hug and prayers, my nieces' hugs, soft pillows, poofy comforter
Really, meditation is something which helps me a lot , also funky music and dancing if I’m in the mood is good . Of course my new puppy too. During lockdown I’ve been working on a model of a hare using newspaper and glue , I’m making it with a partly human body so I can dress it in a jacket, it’s kept me going in lockdown x
@Susiefloos
You feel okay with using part of a human body in creating your hare (or rabbit)? Is this normal for you and where you live? If it is, it's okay. It's just very different for me.
I feel supported when people really listen to me, give feedback like they care. Not like when coworkers seem to care and then you catch them trash talking you!! Feel supported-but hard during covid-when people want to be around you/ share time with you-wether text, email, phone, Skype, in person/just not now. I feel good-reading good book, I agree with someone who said cup of tea/snuggle in blanket, curl up with my kitty cat!! Or watching my crazy reality tv shows that make me forget my own problems. Oh also feels good to go for walk and just look at flowers, trees, animals. Thanks for listening
@caughtinthemiddle
I can relate to what you said, honest support is important not just people sitting there whilst their minds are elsewhere. It's nice if someone really tries to connect. Nice that you have a variety of things which make you feel at ease.
Thank you! Yes I need people to be genuine-but I try not to judge. But it is hard to be with a group of people- that all seem to talk to each other/more interested-empathetic to each other-but only include you on the periphery. And sometimes it is hard-because you are on the periphery-because you won’t join in trashing the boss or trashing someone else! So I can be lonely in a room full of people because I am trying to be positive and do the right thing!! So then I have to do the above things that give me a little ray of sunshine in the middle of the clouds.😀
@amiablePeace77
How do you feel best supported in hard times? I feel best supported in hard times with reminders that just because things are hard, that I am NOT a failure at life, that I am doing my best and that can be enough. Hearing that others can see how hard I'm trying in spite of challenges is really useful. Some days I can only give myself so much acknowledgement.
What are things which help you to feel comfy? Books, art, kitty snores, and fuzzy socks.
@RebelliousMirror
Reminding yourself of whatever happens does not define you sounds very helpful! Doing your best is always enough for you to do.
Love kitty snores!
