Someone can earn and keep my trust by keeping their word. I understand things happen to prevent a person from being able to keep their promises but as long as they explain why they were unable to do so, I am pretty forgiving. I try to do the same in return.

Nice response! I think as long as someone is honest with any barriers or changes for the conditions to whatever they promised, things can be forgiven and their integrity stays intact! <3

For me it's showing they can keep their word and showing me that they are loyal. It's hard to gain my trust but once you have it you have it and if you lose it it's gone forever.

How can someone earn your trust?
By doing what they say they will do, by keeping their promises and keeping their appointments, being on time, and not talking about people behind their backs. If they talk about other people who aren't present, they're probably talking about me when I'm not there, too.

Yep. "If someone is willing to gossip to you, they are also willing to gossip about you."
For me, a person has to be genuine, respectful, honest and able to work at things in order to gain my trust. As this is how I like to be with others. They have to be willing to colaborate in joint ventures :)
Being open and honest, and being a genuinely caring person toward others.

I too find it's easier to trust people who genuinly care because they see with their hearts.

How does someone earn my trust? Haven't met that person yet; but I can tell you what it would take.
Start with honesty, take the time to build a relationship that goes beyond shallow, and follow it up with loyalty.

Hi Justme, I totally can relate to going beyond the shallow, deep relationships are very fulfilling.
I don't trust easily, so it's really something they have to earn. I think it happens when they show they are to be trusted, when they are persistent and keep their promises. I need them to be honest. Not saying what I want to hear, but their honest opinion.

I hear you. To me good friends say what they really think, not just something to please you so that you keep on helping them.
I found that being honest and listening, really makes people open up to you.
