@amiablePeace77, The only one I can think of is from when I was a child. It was snowy and icy and my school class was walking up a hill to go somewhere. I slipped and fell and strted sliding down the hill. I was in poor health and could not get myself up. no one would help me. They just walked around me sliding down the hill. I was in a bad situation. One boy stopped and helped me up. He didn't seem very happy about it. I wasn't popular and we weren't friends. I've never forgotten his help though.

@purpleTree4652

It shows that sometimes we get help from people we would least expect us to help. Sorry thought for what happened before, I can only imagine how terrible you must have felt, very sad.

Small acts of kindness is something I experience quite often as a teacher but one thing that happened last week was at home. I'm doing EMDR therapy because I live with PTSD. My partner was home when I left and he knew I was feeling anxious about it. It's good therapy but hard work and I'm usually exhausted when I come home. My partner had left when I came back. I went to my bed to lie down and on the pillow he had put a stone with the inscription "I love you". That was so sweet and even though he wasn't home to make sure I was okay he wanted me to know he was thinking of me.❤

@BlackCatLuna Thanks for reminding me of something a cat did for me.

About five years ago I lost my cat to feline infections peritonitis -- a 100% fatal coronavirus disease of cats. He was the first cat I'd had since I was about six (I'm over 70 now), and I was devastated.

We'd got him from a shelter along with another cat who was, at that time, mostly devoted to one of my housemates. But that night, and for the next several weeks, she slept with me. She knew that I needed comforting.

@amiablePeace77 What small act of kindness were you once shown that you will never forget?

When I was having a rough period some people helped to build my sense of self esteem and inspired me to keep going even though the going was rough.

When I was a boy, my family and I visited my grandmother in Florida for Christmas for a few years in a row. My sister and I would walk through the trailer park where she lived to get to the convenience store once in a while. We had to pass by this one old man's trailer on the way. He looked very mean, but it was because of the way his face had aged. It sagged in a way that he looked like he was always frowning.

One day as we passed by, he called out to us and we thought he was going to yell at us. He called for us to come closer. We walked up to him and he asked for our names. He told us his name, too, but unfortunately, I don't remember it. He then said something like "I've noticed you two as you walk by and you are two of the most well-behaved kids I have ever seen. I wanted to be sure to wish you a Merry Christmas."

We said thank you and Merry Christmas to him, too. I've never forgotten how this old man we didn't know wanted to be sure to wish us a Merry Christmas.

Decades ago ... I was coming out of an air terminal,carrying my young child. I was young and inexperienced, and didn't know to check the weather of our destination. It was drizzling sleet and freezing cold, and I was totally unprepared ... arriving from a warm climate. Some lady ran over and put a blanket over my daughter, and disappeared into the crowd. Will never know who she was ... but I continue to be grateful and humbled by that (truly random) act of kindness.

When one of my teachers noticed some of my classmates bullying me at a time when there was no one to believe me, as these classmates were bullied at me without anyone noticing them, but at the moment when my teacher saw them they had reached their arrogance until they bullied at me in front of him, and he punished and censured them. Although this did not stop them from bullying me, the attitude of that teacher affected me very much at a time when I was feeling very wronged.

When I was younger, I fell on some Ice and a soldier came over and helped me up and took care of me for a bit. I'll never forget that man. He was young but so nice.

What small act of kindness were you once shown that you will never forget? That is a difficult question, very few people have thought to be kind to me. I suppose my most recent one was when my girlfriend said "Yes" to my proposal.

Sorry to hear that people did not show more kindness to you, hope you will find enough kindness here to make up for it to some extend. heart
