Hello lovely 50+ community laughheart How do you feel this morning?

Today, I like to share a quote with you:

"The heart is like a garden. It can grow compassion or fear, resentment or love. What seeds will you plant here?"

enlightened What seeds can you start planting this week to have a garden in your heart filled with love, compassion for yourself and others and contentment?

One seed I will plant is the seed of self-encouragement "This situation won't last forever". "I've already been through many other painful experiences, and I've survived".

Can I borrow one of your seeds? :) I'm struggling to stay positive and I could also use a seed of self-encouragement to help me get through to sunnier days.

Hugs, it must be hard trying hard to see the good things but feeling being beaten down by life heart

What kind of activities do you have which might help you to feel better?

Here is a very special seed for you "This is an opportunity for me to learn how to cope with fears and I can ride this out and not let it get to me".

I was literally going to order seed for our garden- seems like many others are planning to plant seeds this year. However the seeds of sharing and love are a challenge during these times- what I wanted to do required hands on experience. Looking at reinventing my plans. And yes it does include my horses!!! social distancing with a 1000lb love bug. who likes to lick humans.

@barncat The thought of a horse giving kisses has made my day!

@barncat

I hear you, planting those seeds can be challenging if the environment is challenging, but taking care of the first seed until it grows, nurturing the seedling of love and compassion will hopefully result in many more plants and a whole bunch of seeds to be planted everywhere.

Your horse must be a wonderful companion smiley

Offmytrack, that's awesome. Keep nurturing it so that it grows and seeds fall into other people's hearts and new gardens will grow there.smiley

I am struggling a little at the moment because I feel I have allowed the seed of resentment to grow in my heart. Resentment towards people who were and some who are still lackadaisical about basic hygience and respect for other people's lives. I only realised about my resentment when I responded with some anger towards certain situation. Right now, I am trying to plant the seed of acceptance and compassion into my heart and I am dilegently watering them everyday. I love it when My heart and garden, are not overgrown with weeds.

@faithlove1111- thank you for sharing something I struggle with during these times- except the other direction- family members who only thought of themselves and came up to my community to escape the city. They are able to sequester themselves in the cabin and make a ton of money remotely while community members lose their jobs. Need to water my garden of acceptance too.

@barncat , I read this wonderful article about acceptance. These words from that article really got me to accept the concept of acceptance

" Accepting people does not itself mean agreeing with them, approving of them, waiving your own rights, or downplaying their impact upon you. "

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/your-wise-brain/201410/accept-them-they-are

Hope this article will be helpful to you too. smiley

@faithlove1111- thank you so much- timely reminder - great article. Had a horrific argument with my neighbor's boyfriend on the beach last night- based on my sharing that I was traumatized after he put down 2 of my horses. (they were both shot) I walked away realizing his name calling and not acknowledging my loss is his issue- not mine. It is still painful to remember the four horses I lost last year. I plan to plant some seeds of acceptance today.

I am trying to plant gratefulness. By having each person at dinner say something positive about the day or something they are grateful for

I need to work on the seed of standing my ground and setting boundaries for myself. I need to let my seeds rest in the ground and not rush them. I tend to get too much on my plate and have meltdowns.
