Suffering does not make you especially unworthy because we all suffer. No matter how rich, beautiful, or successful someone is, they suffer, too. The more you believe you are unworthy of life, the more you actually suffer.

@amiablePeace77 suffering has taught me that life is always changing and suffering today could change to joy tomorrow.

I agree Offmytrack. Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it.

@Kathy1212

Hi Kathy smiley, nice to see you. Good point about feelings change, a sprinkle of positivity like just getting a smile from someone, feeling the gentle sun touching our skin can change our whole mood within shortest time.

That I can be ageist as I slowly decay or be mindful and joyous for all things coming and going as a recycle. I was nothing and am nothing and will be nothing again. But at the same time I am something and will again he so too but in another way and form. Completely unaware of any wrong doing and recycled into pure East of lifes element and blood.

We all have choices and as you said we can choose to be joyous and mindful.

Sometime shortly after the birth of the internet, I heard a saying... Hard times make for good people... Over the years I have seen this play out but does have a caveat. My father, RIP, was a child of the depression and one of the few stories that I can recall is about each child gettng an orange for christmas. The other story is about how when the cellar was out of garden items, it was cream of wheat, 3 times a day. Now this made my father to be a very hard worker, and as far as I know ambitious. Downside is he (at the time where I was a teen and young adult) was very cheap, embarassingly cheap. I suspect many with similar time frames could parrot the situation. I recently have made an observation of myself, I am very afraid of risk. I suspect it is linked up not only to my fathers experience growing up, but the situation of his advanced age & business situation having a tremendous influence on me. Hope this has some sense too it.. Have a great day.

@ruffneckred Hi my parents lived through the Great Depression and my mom got an orange for Christmas too

They did have hens and a cow and a garden but still times were tough.

Red I am sorry that you picked up on those very careful attitudes of your dad. It is natural to do that. When my dad died I realized I had to live outside of some of those beliefs and so slowly I have learned new avenues of expression and new ways of being.

@soulsings

thanks, like all things it is not so simple. My father owned a small busines, which he sort of let die of... this happened during a pretty formative part of my life and pull back into a shell and wait things out seems to be my MO. and that has not served me well at all. Really confilicting is I have 4 older siblings, and 2 younger siblings. Each and every one is extremely successful... I have struggled with "what happened to me" for a long time. Most people IRL, don't want to hear it for a variety of reasons. That is kind of why I am on 7 cups, my world just detests all thing mental health related, especially the male persons.

@amiablePeace77 A useful thing I learned was that I was able to make it thru my suffering. It helps to remember that.

Branch, glad you did and I agree, it's a good reminder for the next challenges. You did it before, you can do it again.

Hello Everyone. Am here because life has gotten lonely. I relocated to a new area with some family here. Turns out we're not very chummy, so here I am. Kids grown and no purpose. Just curious how everyone is doing too.
