Well im trying to lose so I felt hangry at 3 PM
@Dancersoul Are you doing intermittent fasting, or just trying to cut calories?
@Dancersoul
@Dancersoul what does hangry feel like?
@Dancersoul
That sounds challenging to carry on with the day. Some diets can leave you tired, are there enough energy boosting foods in your current diet which do not cause sugar spikes? Sometimes it can be the result of too little intake of water and not enough sleep too. Hope it will get better.
I dont feel hunger like most people, ever since my incident i have no appetite to speak of but i need to eat or so they tell me (by they family and friends) but i dont feel hunger like eveyone else i just know i need to eat or basically starve so eat i do hungry or not. Anyone else have this issue, woulld really like some input on this i feel all alone in this
@Golf6311 the body tends to shut off the hunger mechanism after fasting for a while so hunger is not the only sign that someone needs to eat. The brain requires protein and sugar to function well so if it does not get a supply of that, it breaks down bodily tissues to get a supply, but in the long term this can cause excessive loss of weight that can put someone's health at risk.
Some people do better with grazing. Have an egg for breakfast or a yogurt, some cashews or almonds mid morning, and a half sandwich for lunch and a mid afternoon snack and something for supper like soup or salad. Those are just some ideas but to really get a proper diet you may want to reach out to a doctor or dietitian.
@soulsings I often get sleepy after lunch. This sounds like a good idea.
@adventurousBranch3786 I get real sleepy after a high carb meal. I try to eat good at work and then splurge a little when I get home to treat myself.
@amiablePeace77 I can't really tell about dips in energy, because I am always exhausted. Food doesn't seem to help energize me, because my exhaustion is related to not being able to sleep at night.
@sincereOcean4592
So sorry to hear you're not getting the sleep you need. Do you find that whilst laying in bed you are thinking a lot about stuff that happened or might happen?
Here is a link about sleeping well, hope you will get some take-aways from it

@amiablePeace77 winter diet is different than summer diet. Hot today had a salad. Cool tonight has hot enchliladas. I guess change is something that happens in diet. Some form of protein with each meal helps my moods stay more stable.
Yogurt smoothie for breakfast- wore off in time for late lunch.
@amiablePeace77
Thank you for suggesting this: excellent exercise for me!
For years Ive been looking at how my food choices affect my mental health or lack of it.
My energy dips in the late afternoon. Its worse after eating carbs. Im noticing the dip is less if I eat protein.
@Seven8Nine
These are great observations and very helpful to you. Protein is one of the most important nutrients to get into your daily diet, it makes sure your body functions properly. The body needs good carbs too but refined carbs like white pasta can cause sugar spikes and leave you tired and weak.
I find eating a challenge. If I have breakfast by 10am I am starving and remain that way the whole day. If I skip breakfast I am not hungry until about 2pm and then can eat a small salad or soup and be fine until approx 7.pm when I have evening meal. However being I am trying to lose weight and all I read encourages the eating of breakfast as extremely important.. therein is my dilemma.
@TopazPringle I am similar. I think we should listen to our bodies, though. If you aren't hungry for breakfast, don't eat. If you are, do. Of course, distinguishing between true hunger and whatever else it might be...boredom, tiredness, etc is important. This is extremely hard for me to do lol
I know someone who does intermittent fasting and he's pretty dedicated to it, but sometimes he has to break it because of what his body is telling him.

I haven
@TopazPringle I have never been able to fast. My grandmother used to fast one day every week, but it was something I was never able to do. I have that instant gratification problem...lol
@sincereOcean4592 I find fasting difficult. What I do instead is cut down on the amount I eat and avoid sugar and carbs. That way mood is not out of alignment and I still am hungering a little.
@TopazPringle
Topaz, I personally too believe it is beneficial to eat in certain intervals to avoid that the body is running low in nutrients and liquid and to make sure you can sleep well. Thus training the body to have the main meals at certain times can be helpful. Our bodies are made to signalize us if we need something (natural body intelligence) but if we surpress those signals soon or later the body stops "talking" and that might happen if you're skipping your fIrst meal on a day - consequently you are not getting hungry that fast lateron. It might help also having a look at what you eat, if it causes imbalances in the body (spikes), if so, the gut bacteria might cry out loud for sugar for example. This is though one way to look at it too.
When I exchanged sugar by stevia I lost weight easily (was not intended but happened naturally)
