50's Plus Check in November 12-15 2018
This week a lot of us have been focusing on military items especially since the US is celebrating Veterans Day November 11. Thought we could have a place this week to share if we were in the military, what branch of service and any stories that you would like to share. You can also share if your spouse or relatives where in the service and get any support that you would like. This might be a challenging topic for some so us listeners on the leader board or others that you can search for are more than willing to support you.

I would like to Thank everyone who has served and is still serving and also their fmaily members..
My family has many that have served are still serving. My Great Grandfather , My Great Uncles , My Nephew , My Cousins , My Brother in law. My Father in law.. all different branches .
I do Hope and Pray one day that we will live in a world that No Wars ever happen again.
The True Heroes are those that stand up for our Country ..

That is awesome you have so many people in your family that have and are serving in the military. It would be wonderful if we could have no war in the world. I know that is one reason I got out of the Army Reserves after having my 1st son.
@DanaMH It is was very nice of you to join and do what you could , so thank you Dana ,
I am sure it was scary and very hard on ones mental health along with the physical health.
I do see so many leaving their families and not seeing their children grow up or even born , so for anyone to join up and leave would be one of the hardest things to ever do .. watching the reunions when they come home from serving is so tear jerking I just can not imagine how it really feels.

I agree. I know we were watching something someone put together on Veteran's day and I just lost it started crying and had to leave the room due to some things that happened when I was in the service.

I was a draft dodger (remember the 60's?), did not serve. My daughter tried to serve in the Navy, but they decided they made a mistake recruiting her and sent her home. Nevertheless, I do respect and honor those who did serve.

Hi, I was born in the late 60's and don't remember those years but grandparents told a lot of things about those times. Sorry they made a mistake for your daughter.

That is a great quote. Thanks for sharing it with us. Yes, there are a lot of military folks around the different countries helping their countries and they should all be honored for their service.
