A student once told me that because of me she was able to go on , she was being badly bullied and I listened and got her through, that was the most beautiful and humbling moment of my life 🩷🤗

Its me always telling myself that even though I don’t look strong I’m a lot stronger than people think and smarter than anyone gives me credit for. Surviving through everything I’ve survived through for 40 years, most of it by myself, yet still never giving up, still believing in myself and pushing forward has proven that more than once.
A lot of things I’ve lived through if not everything would’ve caused many people to commit you know what as they would not live through any one of these things as long as I have, certainly not by themselves like I did

I can never forget the day a complete stranger walked up to my father and told him that his daughter, me, had a pure face and an even purer heart. Then he simply walked away, leaving those words lingering in the air. I don't know whether I'd call it a compliment, but it's one of those rare encounters I'll always remember. Gives me goosebumps to this day.

@amiablePeace77 it was the year before the last , we were at literature class and then we were laughing about something and the teacher ( she was old enough to be and in one way was a sweet grandma to us ) told me that my smile reaches my eyes. it's the first compliment i remember feeling so vividly sincere. i was too stunned to speak and deadpanned 'what' lol. my friend nudged me to thank her and i did. it's one of the best moments of my life :)

Boy, this is hard. I have a tough time remembering anything..... except maybe 30 years ago when a woman who liked me complimented "my arms" and I have always remembered that. I know that seems maybe a shallow thing, but it's something I remember.
One more comment that has stuck with me for years. It would seem like a compliment but was taken as a big slight. There was a girl I liked in highschool and I told another girl who was a neighbor to tell the girl I liked that I was fond of her. The reply "he's too nice".
I can't help but wonder after all these years that maybe nice guys do finish last. It doesn't make any sense, but oh well.

Around two months ago, a random shop keeper in the station complimented my smile 🥰 saying I have a beautiful and contagious smile and asked where I've been all this time 💗
It made me feel good about myself 🤗

About 8 months ago, a person at work (I hadn't seen in about 2 years) walked right by me then turned around and said, "I didn't recognize you, you are looking real good, I can see the effort you put in" (she is a fitness buff) we stood there in the hallway and talked for a whole hour. I had lost almost 50 lbs.
She was the first person to say anything to me on my weight-loss.
It felt good to actually be seen and noticed.
