How DO you Protect Our Planet? I try to limits trips in the car to essentials, I double use water wherever possible, I recycle, and compost organic waste to make more soil.

What Kind of Outdoors Activities do You Enjoy? I enjoy walking when the weather is sunny. Just seeing the trees starting to bud and soon to leaf out is very joyful to me.

@SunShineAlwaysGrateful During COVID I started raised bed gardens in storage tubs and a compost pile. It worked I actually got food out of it! It gave me a new appreciation for nature. I planted some milkweed for the butterflies too!

I think I have found my crowd right here!!! This is so important to me--and to my family. I am not doing as well since my disability because some things will have to be done differently. Can't drive to take the recycling, have to rely on someone else. Also while I was in hospital, my electric and water use have gone up for the household. The culprits are lighting, needed plumbing and electric repairs. We will get to them ASAP but income has become less than half so some things have to wait. I would love any ideas on getting the electric down (LEDs for sure, but also, electronics have become an issue with a YouTube wannabe star, and all the neighborhood kids coming here to game). And of course, me, watching the TV and socializing online...all that is new. I turned off the water to the leaking outdoor faucets but still have to figure out the toilet problems. Hopefully it is a vinegar fix...has worked in the past. Great post. Let's celebrate this year round! Orange butterfly milkweed has to be my favorite!

How DO you Protect Our Planet? What Kind of Outdoors Activities do You Enjoy?

I do a lot of recycling, it's amazing what one can do out of things we usually would throw away! Big washing liquid containers can become watering cans! Apart from that also collecting water from dish rising, showering etc. to water plants outside, using non harmful cleaning agents (vinegar, baking soda) and much more.

not feeling well these past several days... nice reminder about Earth Day...

I'll try to drag myself outside and sit and watch the birds and the trees swaying in the breeze. I'll keep thoughts of gratitude in my heart that I still can appreciate these wonders of nature. I hope when I feel better later this summer, I can again take a nice walk on a park trail... of course with my camera...
