Hello, everyone.

With the constant expansion and evolvement of our site and sub-communities, we always want to ensure that the voices of those who rely upon and interact with their various communities stay up to date on what is going on.

As many of you know @soulsings has been the longstanding Community Mentor Leader of the 50 & Over Community and has been a pivotal part in how far the community has grown and developed throughout the years. I would also like to thank soulsings, amiablePeace77, and the other team leaders that have worked for 5 years to grow the 50+ community from a subforum on the 35+ Subcom to what it is today, a vibrant community. However, as time passes, leaders often shift their attention to other onsite projects that they are involved in. Soulsings will be redirecting their efforts to the Therapy Subcommunity and that means that the role of Community Mentor Leader for 50 & Over will be vacant.

We are looking for serious and interested persons who can fully dedicate their time and efforts to maintain this community. Topics covered in the community but not limited to include wellness, positivity, exercise, menopause, old age, changes in life, and retirement. If you want to grow a community with upward potential, please send a message to www.7cups.com/@CheeryMango and we can start to explore that option together.

Lastly, 7cups continues to form partnerships with organizations in the US and around the world to increase the number of persons who can benefit from what we have to offer here. We are considering a rename the 50 & Over Community to offer more inclusivity and support to our older community. What do you think? Should 50 & Over stay with its current name or should it be renamed? If you think it should be renamed, what are some possible suggestions that you have in mind?

Hi Cheery Mango. This is my first dour and my first interaction, but I've a quarter century of experience being "over 50", so I feel secure in advancing some common issues that face our community.

There's losing your partner.

Living alone and perhaps even having no extended family. Even if there are family, but long-term ruptures.

Taking care of an aging parento sometimes ewen retiring early and living in their home,

Dealing serious personal illnesses.

Dealing with financial insecurity, housing insecurity, food insecurity.

The challenges of down-sizing... Atd of cooking for one.

Wanting friends, but uncertain where to start in your community.

And how to find new venues in your community where your your gifts, skills and aptitudes can enrich the world around us all.

And finally, finding love, commitment and new life partners!

I'm excited to find this support forum and I to have many many years of dropping in periodically , offering observationss and support, and undoubtedly hoping to reach out when life bites me, too.

This is EXACTLY what I hoped to find in addition to the boundaries program as I prepare to begin a tew life abroad with my man.. the long-term love of my life.

I'm sure the perfect group name will emure eventually... Something uplifting, loving and supportive . I DO think that this group should be limited to those 50+. Not that all ages can't have similar life challenges, but the very fact that ALL OF US bring our time of life to bear in all these circumstances cannot and should not be ignored. In fact, as a former group leaier and moderator, I recognize the need for people to feel totally validated - - UNDERSTOOD & Identied with...

Warm welcomes to all. Now let's put the tea kettle on.

(P.arden all the mistypes. Bad eyesight)
