Goal setting and getting things done as we get older

Staying productive and on a course as we get older can be tricky. The secret is to lean into your wisdom and knowledge of things you already know, protecting things that are valuable to you in a time-effective and energy-saving time frame. This will allow you to live a fulfilling and vibrant lifestyle.

Setting goals as we grow older helps you both mentally and physically. This will keep your mind active and engaged in situations in your life. Goals can also physically help you in daily exercises. Some choose to walk around the block or in the community they live in. This keeps you flexible and physically fit. 

Achieving your goals will give you a sense of accomplishment. You set a goal for yourself and fulfilled it to the end. This will give you happiness for achieving the goal and satisfaction that you did it. When setting goals, use the SMART method.

SMART method:

Specific: Make the goal clear and understandable to you, knowing what is to be done.

Measurable: being able to set a time frame when you want the goal completed.

Achievable: set a goal you know you can do fully.

Relevant: choose a goal that means something to you.

Time-Bound: setting a time frame or deadline when the goal is to be completed, like a week or a month.

When setting a goal, make it easy for you to do. Set a plan down on paper of what their goal is and when you expect to achieve it, and write your progress down. When you keep the goal short and simple, it will keep you motivated to do it. 

When working on the goal, look to see the progress. Does anything need to be changed or worked on differently? Once the goal is completed, award yourself for a good job done.
