@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

I could start by simply saying thank you to people who do me kind favours.

One way I can express gratitude toward another person is simply by saying "thank you". I can also express gratitude by enjoying the time others choose to spend with me in a way where I am present and available. I can also go the extra mile. For example, sharing a warm slice of freshly baked banana bread on a cold morning with my kids, before they go to school, expresses to them that I appreciate their presence. It also gives me a feeling I can appreciate knowing that in serving others I make them feel good about themselves.

Thankyou for sharing, @BeautifulSun298501, this is too wholesome to read. Acts of service are a love language as well, certainly does help one feel special and appreciated!💛

Despite however much time has passed, if anyone has had a positive impact on you whether it be last week or 6 years ago, call them. Tell them that you had a positive impact in your life and that you are grateful for having met them. Life is short, why not choose to live in happiness all the while spreading it?

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou I express my gratitude by trying to return the favour in some way because I think that it is obligatory for me to return the favour.

Aw I feel many of us could relate about finding it "obligatory" to return favors, @Zarram77, expressing thanks alone doesn't feel enough at times, and there's this "I should do something similar for you too, so I don't feel bad about being the only one receiving it".

I see it from this side and can agree. But when I see it from a different side, where I do something for someone, I wouldn't expect them to return the favor, or want them to feel obligated in anyway. As I feel, if I really do something nice for someone, it's self less and it is why it is "nice", the alternate wouldn't be as nice for me.

The dilemma haha! Thanks for sharing, Zararam, either way it's good to express our gratitude for people and assure them that it's a two-way street always!

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou,

Gratitude is something people often don't recognize . We don't tend to do it often. We are often in the endless cycle of "want". "I want this _____ I want ______" But we never really realise how greatful we should be for the beautiful world around us. The beautiful nature. The people around us. The people who hugged us and loved us. The people who were always there for us when we truly needed it. Some people say "I have no one" but there are people out there..... who love. who care. who want. who be.

Gratitude can be shown in many ways. I show my gratitude through poetry. Through words. Things like only giving a hug can make someone's day. To feel. To love. To care. Its beautiful. To hear someone say something like "thank you" makes a huge difference. To just show you really appreciate them. whether that be through words or actions.

"You never know what people are going through and sometimes the people with the biggest smiles are struggling the most, so be kind"

Words can make a huge difference. They can heal.
