Mindfulness Daily Check-in January 27
As a professional, student, or a volunteer on 7Cups, you're probably busy human, trying to balance different activities and allocating time. With that much in a plate, feeling overwhelmed would be natural. You might be feeling tired or stressed with events took place in week. So, when this happen, it's pretty fine to take a weekend break and stay away from all the activities. Taking break once in a week or a while is good for mental or emotional health.
So, if you are stressed, overwhelmed or just tired, schedule a break this weekend and get some time for yourself. Just You! Take this time to restore your energy and rebuild and redesign the thoughts to re-start the activities with a fresh perspective and new energy. So, everyone's idea to enjoy a break can vary. However, to make it better and practice mindfulness too, try these:
Do Journalling. Instead of watching TV, doing nothing or sleeping wholeday, try journaling. Take a paper pad and pen and write down how you feeling, what thoughts going in your mind, how you observing the environment around you. What you hoping for and so on. It will allow you to stay in present and being mindful of yourself. You're important!!
Log off Social Media and stay away from interactions. Generally, I found that most of us on weekends, if got time after household work, we spend time on social media and just keep scrolling the feed, notifications and see what's happening in others lives. At times. it adds to your overwhelming feeling. So many IFs and BUTs get started in mind. Give it a break! Log off and just relax through other means and modes. Social Media also include 7Cups.
When you have a good break, it help you to have a clear mind, free from stress and tiredness. Mindfulness is easy, if you're ready to TRY.

This is so true about the benefits of truly relaxing after a long, entangled work week, by using the weekends to completely unwind by also not attaching to the dramas on social media. I've committed to 7cups so I will post here in the mornings, even on the weekends. This weekend, though (as there are dramas from work circling in my head) I will up the physical activity and start a nice craft. I don't usually do crafts but this one is easy and it's unique and it will make people smile and feel good, including me.
I'm also going to try and learn to detach from my draining worries by identifying them as separate from me. Maybe then I can stay in the present moment more.
@ASilentObserver Both of those ideas sound really great
I really would love to start mindfulness journalling: a good way to start could be with gratitude, writing five things each day that I am thankful for and appreciate. What you've said about social media is so true, it often gets in the way of my work as I get really distracted. It also means I spend less time doing fun things such as taking a walk or doing other stuff.
Thank you for this check-in, it's made me aware about staying away from social media interactions. I will try the journalling soon :)
@ASilentObserver Thanks for reminding us of these two important points.
Journalling is wonderful when you need to be open and honest and not get a reaction from someone.
And taking self care breaks is great. For me a mindfulness session is tremendous self care opportunity. So was the walk I took this morning. I want life to be fun and when it isn't I look to see how I may be going against my inner needs.
@ASilentObserver
journalling helps me to remind myself of the goods things in my life.
lateron i will take a walk to the seaside and just sit there and breathe in the fresh, pure air.
@amiablePeace77
Yay! Peace. Good to hear your plans for the weekend and I hope you enjoyed it mindfully. Thank you <3
@ASilentObserver
thanks and yes, i did.
I've been really busy, especially today but the entire week has been filled with appointments and tasks as well. So I've decided I'm going to do some reading tomorrow. I've gotten really excited lately to reread a book series I used to love and I want to start that tomorrow
@JayTheBird14 sounds like something that helps you self care! Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to read more often, just anything that captures my interest. Maybe learn how to crochet or something else that is arts and craftsy. It brings me a sense of calm when I have a project to do that has nothing to do with technology. I may try to take up journaling as well, but I have never been really good at keeping up with things like that. Time will tell. :)
Reading sounds cool. Reading while having coffee seems fun and mindful way for me. With every sip of coffee and reading the contents of a book allow me to feel better after a hectic and stressful day. Awesome idea Jay.
