Leadership Spotlight: Lou73
@Lou73 has been bettering 7 Cups since 2015 – 7 years as of November! Lou’s occupied many positions across domains, and we’re especially grateful to call her Group Support Mentor Leader, overseeing the Sharing Circles.
Why did you nominate Lou?
“Lou helps run the sharing circle, among other roles. Lou73 is efficient, organized, creative, approachable, helpful, kind, and respectful, and puts so much effort into the safety, security, and integrity of the sharing circle and all other roles. I cannot speak highly enough of Lou and how much she cares and the effort she puts in. She is so kind and helpful to everyone.”

She is compassionate, and caring and never fails to step to go the extra mile to support and guide those in the team or participants of the community. Q&A!
What motivates you to be a volunteer?
Seeing how much warmth and support that Cups community can offer, through both 1:1 chats and in the group chatrooms. I like that I can use the experiences that I've been through to help and support others who are going through similar things.
Your proudest 7 Cups achievement:
I think being nominated for a Tulip award and the Persistence Badge. I loved offering long-term support and seeing how members would grow and achieve and really explore what is on their minds and it meant a lot to me that someone felt that I'd really supported them through such a difficult time. And the Persistence Badge was really unexpected but so wonderful to be nominated for and I loved that it was for resilience and never giving up. We all face challenges but I will always be proud of not giving up when things get difficult.
Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why?
There are so many great leaders here that it's hard to only mention a few. But @sunisshiningandsoareyou is just wonderful, they always know the right thing to say and how to support other leaders and they continue to inspire and light the way. ☀ @MistyMagic has taught me so much and has been a wonderful and welcoming support. I admire all the work they do across Cups but particularly in creating the Hobby Zone 🦋
What’s next for you on your 7 Cups journey?
I've recently been getting more involved with forums and joined the Hobby Zone as a forum supporter which is exciting! We are also looking at how to revive the Sharing Circles on the teen side!

The two notifications, one of a tag from @Heather225 in this post, and the alert for spotlighting @Lou73 popped at the same time for me, and I jumped with excitement to see you being spotlighted, I opened both of these notifications in separate tabs and to my delightful surprise, they were the same. Lol! *cries* :')
Thankyouuu for thinking of me, and being so very appreciative always, some people always have this genuinely heartfelt way of expressing their gratitude, a way that connects hearts and you've got that too, Lou, it means the whole universe to me coming from you. Just sitting here, gawking at the screen from last whatever minutes this was posted! xD

Oh gosh now to gather myself a bit xD I'm so so so so happy to see you being Spotlighted, you've been a charming leader ever since you stepped up to lead the sharing circles team. I've seen you grow the team (your little SC family, as you call it fondly), work through the nitty gritties of scripts, guidelines, incorporating feedback and suggestions in the best possible manner~ being a humble, caring, respectful, appreciative, considerate, approachable, and simply the most wonderful leader there could be for the SC team at this time. You've done it all AND wearing a smile on your face (now I obviously didnt "see" you smiling lol~ but it's evident in the way you talk about it~ your passion and dedication is felt immensely)~ taking the good, bad, ugly (we know it's all there sadly) at the most rational level, you can and continuing to stay resilient or should I say persisting through the challenges and rising stronger than ever. :P
I'm incredibly proud of you always, not just for being a phenomenal listener, leader, peer, you name it lol, but, for being an abso-freaking-lutely fantabulous hooman. 🦋

@lou73, congrats and very well deserved! I've heard very good things about your SC leadership from different members of our community. High praise! And congrats on the awards too, especially the persistence focus on being there for people over the long-term. I like how you see the reward in seeing people grow and heal.
I think SCs are one of the most powerful interventions we do on the platform. And the secret is the people involved - the community that emerges there - and people that keep coming back and keep looking out for one another. Thank you for being a leader and model here! ✨
