Maybe our method wasn't the standard one. My mother made the gingerbread in the very shapes we needed at first, which may be the most difficult step. What we used to stick the gingerbread pieces together included honey, maltose syrup, and viscous liquid made by albumen mixed with sugar (in my opinion, anything liquid, viscous and sweet is suitable to do this). Then we used icing, cream and colorful candies to decorate it. The gingerbread is made from a brown dough, which is made by mixing flour, brown sugar, butter, honey, ginger powder and cinnamon powder.
