what was your dream job as a kid?
hello teamates, i've got a question, what was your dream job as a kid, and what do you do now?
this should be fun, hehe 😬 lemme go first.. so, as a kid, I wanted to become a nurse.. thennnn, I watched the Ben Carson movie, "gifted hands" and was like, oh that's cool, I wanna be a neurosurgeon too lol, my 12 y/o self cackling at me right now. anyways, now I'm an entrepreneur, and maybe sometime in the future, I'll become a CBT therapist *fingers crossed*
@chyni i wanted to be someone who can ]help n remove others pain n be there for one whos suffering
Like most kids the answer to this question changed every few days. But for the longest stretch in 5th grade I wanted to be a psychiatrist. Instead when I turned 15 I had to start seeing one.
@TrueSight
aww, i’m so sorry about that. i hope that you’re doing much better now ❤️🫂 it’s because of seeing psychologists and psychiatrists and listening on 7 cups make me want to become a CBT therapist, hope to pursue that one day.
@chyni. CBT is my favorite. I'm a listener too. Just did the verified listener test. Psychology is my minor. Still deciding if I want to apply for the PhD in clinical psychology program. I'd want to teach and do research more than direct client care all day. I'd be a therapist who enables tough love at times. Sometimes it's really needed but people don't like it. You seem very kind. I bet you'd make a great therapist. Since being a listener and having active listening training I like to point out all the skills when my therapist is using them.
@TrueSight
firstly, thank you so much for your kind words, and i’m wishing you all the best on whatever you decide to do. not sure whether you got your verified listener badge as yet, but congrats 🎉 honestly, i’m the kind of person to show you tough love as well, i agree with you that not everyone love it, but it’s effective most times.
@chyni. I received the VL badge today. Now applying to the safety team. The hard way is the raw truth. Nobody likes to hear the truth. And there are points we have to make ourselves do things we don't want to do. But getting healthy requires hard work. Just like a stroke victim having to do physical therapy that is hard and unpleasant. Looks at all the foods that are good for you but aren't good. I tell people everyone has an inner source of energy. You just have to tap into it. And changing your mind set...your perspective is the first step.
Ahhh it's a nice question ...I wanted to do many things,I wanted to be an
fashion designer, a teacher,a doctor,a cook,singer,dancer.....It was actually peaceful back then like no tension and all. I miss childhood ya..
@Mits25
honestly, i do miss my childhood days, i was stress free and kinda happy?
