Recovery means...
@lovelyWhisper66 recovery means being honest about what you feel, want, need and who you are.
Recovery means being honest with myself and actively working towards managing stress and difficulties in a healthy manner. It also means being honest with the people around me.

The serenity prayer is a very good place to start defining recovery. If you asked me 9 months ago what is recovery, I would have said, to completely quit addictive and compulsive behavior. Today, equipped with better tools and more experience on the recovery journey, I think recovery is to accept the things that we cannot change, and courage to the change the things that we can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Quitting an old habit is not easy, its hard work, you deal with ongoing triggers, cravings, intrusive thoughts, repeating patterns, a cycle that repeats , some of the things I learned is to be able to pin-point that single action that leads to that cycle, and be able to break the pattern, to step out of it, and do something healthy, for me, a walk can help alot.
I'm still learning, and continue to learn and grow, I hope that one day I will be able to look back at my journey with pride and say, I got this !
Thank you for keeping us active during this month of national addiction.
@diplomaticBeach8952 I've found the Serenity Prayer to be a life saver, especially during difficult times in my recovery, so I'm really glad that you mentioned it. Knowing when something is outside of our control and accepting that can be difficult but is so vital, as is persevering through struggles, knowing that the outcome will be a healthier recovery, and knowing when to accept change as well as when to let things go so that they no longer burden us. Good work on the 9 months in recovery and I wish you many more!

Thank you 🙏 🥰
Recovery means to accept all of the good and the bad. Be happy for what you are able to achieve. Accept the bad to learn and grow. Nurture and raise the good. Practice being mindful and considerate of those around you. Accept that others have their equal share of bad and appreciate them for who they are. Recovery also means working together with those people who share your best interest in mind. Because one is much stronger among others. We can all help each other if we put our hearts and prayers into it. I believe in all of you, no matter what recovery means to you. May you all recover well in this process. Thank you all for being with us and may we grow together in this journey of life.

Recovery means having my life back... Being able to see the beuty of my life and the world without a tinted and obscure and closed vision.
It means having my life back. My peace, comfort, hope, happiness, and joy - having myself back.
I'll be able to look at myself without hate - and be able to talk to those I love with no holding back or fear.. It means everything.
To me recovery means that I will fight the urges as much as I can. Keep myself wary about what I am doing and why I am doing it. I will Try as much as I can I will fight the hardest I can. I will do my best. Even if I fall multiple times, even if I get trapped multiple times, even if people have no faith in me, even if I am alone in this war between my body and I, and my heart and mind. I will pick myself up again and again. Recovery is something that makes me fall and drown and hurt a lot, but it's also a representation that I am still standing and I'm still walking step by step, mile by mile and heartbeat by heartbeat. It means that I can get better, even if sometimes I think I can never become stronger. I will lose and gain, but I can get better.
Sorry if it didn't make sense or something was wrong with it. Take care and Stay safe all of you. At the very least, Try to. I wish you all good luck with your battles and roads.
recovery means being able to see the world with bright colours again, loosing all guilt and pain and just finding a space of comfort with family,
