A Talk On Self Care With LovingRainbowSkies!
Talker: @LovingRainbowSkies
What is your idea of spending a balanced time on 7cups? Share your idea of what a good day looks like on 7cups, for you.
I log in when I have a few hours spare in the evening. Not every day but most days. I check on my members who are regular and take a few general requests. If I have the time I will turn my status to online so I can accept personal requests but I turn it off after a few so that I can spend time on the ones that I've got.
What challenges did you face in trying to strike that balance?
Learning to say no, you can't take every request and be a good listener to them all. But putting myself and the members I am already connected with first was important to maintain a balance
How did you try to deal with those challenges?
It's really hard when you get members who are abusive. Being a female on this app makes it easy for other females to talk to you about personal things but you also get a lot of members who try to engage in sexual conversations with you and stuff and when that happens I want to keep accepting members who actually need my help and have positive conversations but sometimes you just have to go off-line for a few days. These members tend to make new accounts and request you again and again and it really gets to me so learning that it's ok to switch off sometimes was a big thing for me
What are the benefits of improving your balance for the time you spend on cups?
My own mental health has improved. I'm having more meaningful conversations and when you really can help someone it is worth it.
What message would you like to give to the cupsers who have come to be negatively attached to cups, in one of the many ways?
Don't let yourself become addicted to chatting online. Make sure you have outside connections too. It's great to help people but being a listener is a job, it's not for when you feel lonely yourself. You're there for the member so only do it when you're able to do that completely.

Thank you @LovingRainbowSkies !
This is so well said, we can't do everything and expect to do it all well 😮
I know what you mean about those members who harress :/ I'm sorry you've had to deal with that, and glad you've learned to say no. Very important life skill!
@WarmLightXO thank you so much. Doing something right is better than doing too much and not giving it your all. I hope you're having a great experience on this app. You're wonderful!
