Social Anxiety Disorder (S.A.D.)
I have social anxiety disorder, which is basically having a constant immense fear of judgment from others. Personally, my SAD is mainly based on how i look. example of a common thought I have: "everybody is watching me" having this thought often is a symptom of SAD, the feeling that eyes are constantly on you, judging everything about you.
anyone relate to this?
@s0cksz Hey, I don't really have social anxiety but just to let you know, nobody is actually judging you like that! I mean, I know I usually don't judge somebody everytime I see them and I'm sure others are just like that. Plus, I bet your not ugly okay? :)
@s0cksz dw socks, ur not alone, so many of us suffer from this, including me. I hope it could get better for you sockss. Just going out of house could be a really big step for me and i could understand what youre going through that way. We're all right by you sidee ❤️
@s0cksz
I’m not entirely sure but I’m always worried on how people are going to think about me when I talk, walk and do something. Luckily distracting myself works but I really need to learn how to face it and deal with it (:
@OhHelloThereImHere
hii yttt (((: glad u found a way to cope with it <3
Hope you’ll do too (((((:
I'm so sorry you're feeling that way, and i can definitely relate to that. I constantly feel like im being judge for the way i walk, talk, act or look, as though everyone is noticing that there's something wrong with it.
Something that has helped me a lot is trying to racionalize it. If i think about random people that i've seen on the streets that i still remember, i remember them for good reasons. Because i thought they were very pretty or attractive, or bc i loved their outfits.
So, even in the very improbable case that people are actually judging you (which is just in our heads cause no one actually cares lmao, but i know that anxiety is ilogical like that), no one will remember your face by the end of the day.
There's the 5 years rule, "if something that is happening right now wont matter in five years, then it's not worth worrying about". I know things are way more complicated than that, but maybe it's a good place to start to ease SAD a bit.
I hope things get better to you soon. Remember, any small progress is still progress! <33
I feel that because of my hiding/burying my true self deep inside and due to the shell I wear in public that I am being scrutinized and judged and that people can see traces of the real me and they are talking about me and not in a positive way. I have always worn that shell , it is battle worn. It was shattered once and is held together with tape and glue.
It has become a lot worse on me the last few years. I struggle when I think someone is approaching my home, or when I hear a car door close and I fear they are coming here.
@s0cksz Yes! I feel like this all the time. It makes it challenging for me to step outside.
