Death is a weird thing.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about how death is just really odd even tho it’s a natural part of life. One moment you’re talking to someone irl and the next moment they could be gone forever and you’ll literally never see them again. Any thoughts??

@vampdraculaa

It can be scary.

Overwhelming.

Fear of the unknown.

Fear of being without someone you love.

Fear of not being here ourselves.

No answers

It can be alot to find peace with 💛

I think what happens when we pass on, we go on and our souls go to a new baby in the womb and our lives begin again

I get what you mean completely, death can be SO terrifying sometimes. It is something that is out of our control, and that can be really scary and hard to accept. We all pass away eventually, but we do not know when or how. It can be really difficult to think about, because someone could be living one moment and the next moment gone.

I struggle with OCD, and a part of that is wrapped around thoughts about death and the unknown regarding people I love. If that resonates with you, it might not be a bad idea to do some research into how OCD or anxiety plays into those thoughts, just a idea :)

Another thing that helps me reframe things is realizing that worrying doesn't change the future. Since the future is out of our hands, the best thing we can do is live in the moment and spend time doing things we love with the people we love. We might as well take advantage of the time we do have together right now rather than focusing on the future.

idk if any of that makes sense, just my thoughts :)

Dear Vampdraculas

It all comes down to our fear of the unknown, especially when the person we’ve lost is someone close to us. No one has ever come back from death to tell us whether they were happy or not.

I went through this myself when my dad passed away during COVID, at a time of complete lockdown. I was in another country and couldn’t go to him, couldn’t be with him, couldn’t even say goodbye. After I took my time grieving, I discovered that the whole time, I had actually been grieving for myself , for not seeing him, for not saying goodbye, for not spending enough time with him.

Did I ever ask myself what he would have thought? Couldn’t he have been at peace? Couldn’t this have been better for him, since he’d reached such a difficult stage of suffering and exhaustion? Is it selfish of me to only think of myself, to only see things from my own point of view?

And since he was always busy and traveling throughout his life, I choose not to see his absence as losing him ,I choose to see it as him being away, like always, just on a longer trip. He’ll come back, and we’ll meet again one day. Sooner or later, I’m not sure, but I know we’ll meet again — and I’ll hear his own perspective, in his own words, about his journey
