Moving

Hi, everyone,

I am moving in 3 days. Meaning, I'll be leaving at about 5am, loading my cat in the car, and driving 400 some miles to my new home. It'll take me a bit over 8 hours.

When I think of where I'm going, I am a bit unsure. I'm not unsure of my decision to move there. All my reasons to move are sound. What I'm unsure of is what I will find. I've never been to this city before. I've had it described to me as a college town with an urban feel. I've had it described to me as a chill country town. I was told I'd enjoy it. As long as I don't land in a crime pit, my attitude has been that I'll make it my home, and that I'll be spending most of my time inside. My plan is to figure out how to pay school and go to school. And unless I absolutely fall in love with that part of the country, my plan is to live there while I go to school, and then get a job in Hawaii or Australia, and live there for the rest of my life.

Right now, Australia is giving full citizenship to people who work in my profession. My profession is in demand there.

I'm driven.

But right now, my whole world has spun down like a tornado to movers arriving in 36 hours, and then me being a whirlwind moving through the apartment, getting the last things in the car, getting my cat in the car, and then starting on our road trip. First stop the dumpster. Second stop the leasing office to drop off my keys in their overnight slot.

I'm used to sleeping at this time of day, so I will be running on fumes.

I've been working ahead of schedule preparing for this move, but in the last two days, I've come up against a problem with packing. I've had lots of last minute things to pack and lots of odd shaped large things to try to fit in boxes. Boxes that size don't exist, so I've had to make them. All of a sudden, I felt overwhelmed and only 2 days away from the movers showing up. That's pressure on a deadline.

I did what I usually do. I pushed through it. I'm now on the other side of the problem. I got most things packed.

Today I plan to go through the bags and boxes I have been filling with things I plan to take in the car. I'm going to decide what to keep, what to pack in a box for the movers to take, and what to leave behind. (I'm going to offer a lot of chemicals to the movers to take. If they don't want it, I'll leave it behind. Maybe, and hopefully, the cleaning crew will take the chemicals. All I know is that I am not burdening myself with taking them.)

It's when my chemical imbalance kicks in that even the days that I have worked hard and did good work, life really sucks. It kicked in today. It's the worst feeling. And it kicks in within 2 or 3 seconds, and I'm spiraled down into a nightmare. Today, I continued to work on packing problems, and before long, my chemical imbalance dissipated. Thank God, it was a short storm.

But I'm still in the countdown toward moving. I'm trying to be distracted by watching mindless shows online. If I manage to stay distracted I'm ok.

I did good preparing for this move. I think I made a good decision to move. All I need is to get to my new apartment with my cat, successfully. Then I can relax.

Please pray for me and my cat, Chloe, this Thursday, or send us good vibes. We need all the help we can get.

Love and blessings,

Oh goodness, sounds like a whole lot of stress, uncertainty and figuring out, Tree! Sending hugs!❤

Tree, I recently came across this affirmation/ quote somewhere, a very simple one too, nothing fancy-ish lol! ~ "Everything is figure-outable" ~ might not be "true" for all situations, but so long there's will and hope, we'll persevere!

You for sure will, I truly admire how resilient you are, no matter what curveballs life throws at you, you bounce back and you do a great job at it. I'm so so proud of you!

I sense the uncertainty of everything is nerve wracking, but sounds like you made a thoughtful decision, after lots of care and planning, and now we put our hand on our heart and trust that it'll all be okay! All we need to do, at the most, is take it one day at a time.

Sending all the love, blessings and strength your and Chloe's way! Y'all got this always! ❤

Feel free to update here, if you like, how it goes! Cheering for youu!

@purpleTree4652. Australia and Hawaii sound like wonderful places to live after school. The description of the college town sounds nice as well. Wishing you and your cat a safe trip. I’ll be rooting for you both and sending good vibes.
