Hi I'm new on here. I suffer from chronic anxiety disorder, overthinking, chronic stress, & poor sleep. I feel so alone even in a room full of people. I'm always in my head,  in my thoughts, negative thoughts come and I try to cast them out by staying as positive as I can. Its so hard to fake being okay

I can definitely relate to what you're going through. Overthinking and struggling with sleep have been challenges I've faced myself, and I know firsthand how exhausting and overwhelming it can be.For me, overthinking often creeps in when I'm trying to unwind at the end of the day. My mind races with worries, replaying conversations or events from the day, and creating scenarios that may never even happen. It's like a constant loop that's hard to break free from.And when it comes to sleep, I've had my fair share of restless nights. Tossing and turning, unable to quiet my mind enough to drift off into peaceful slumber. The lack of sleep only fuels the cycle of overthinking, making it even harder to find relief.One thing that's helped me is establishing a bedtime routine focused on relaxation and winding down. This might include activities like reading a book, practicing mindfulness meditation, or taking a warm bath. Creating a calming environment and giving myself permission to let go of the day's worries has made a big difference in my ability to fall asleep more easily.I've also found it helpful to challenge my negative thoughts and practice self-compassion. Reminding myself that it's okay to have racing thoughts and that I'm doing the best I can has helped to alleviate some of the pressure I put on myself to be constantly "okay." Seeking support from loved ones and professionals has been invaluable as well. Talking about my struggles with overthinking and sleep with others who understand has provided comfort and reassurance that I'm not alone in this journey.While it's still a work in progress, I've learned to be more patient and gentle with myself as I navigate these challenges. Taking small steps towards better sleep hygiene and finding healthy coping mechanisms for overthinking has made a difference, and I'm hopeful that with time and persistence, I'll continue to make progress towards more restful nights and a quieter mind.

@ukiyoomi those are really good strategies for sleeping. Have you tried Valerian root? You can buy it without a prescription from normal stores, often it is in tea. That ingredient helps you fall asleep in a natural way. I've read that bananas can also help relaxation due to the potassium it contains. Also making sure the bedroom is phone free so that your mind gets used to the fact you're in there to only sleep. I hope everything goes well for you.

Hi,I'm new too nice to meet you. And I get the whole overthinking, anxiety, and poor sleep as you can tell, sorry. Sometimes when things get hard there's a voice in my head and it tells me things that I know aren't true but sometimes it just gets to me and then I go mute. Sometimes it's ok to fake being ok but don't be scared to reach out when you really need to. Sorry if it was too long I'm not good with people.ð¥´

Hey!

The thoughts will never stop coming. No matter what you do. This is not a bad news rather an important information you need to acknowledge that thoughts be it evil, scary, jealous etc etc are common. You are not responsible for that as long as you do not act upon it.

In another chapter of thoughts, they do scare you Of a potential calamity.

So we are the only person who are responsible the actions happening in our life. Things keep going. If your fate is sealed and you have nothing to do. All you have to give the best shot. We all leave this world soon. I may not deliver this post as I can leave my breath before hitting the send button. So we can't control the tides, all we have to do is to balance on them.

Stay strong

@KranialAktivity

Heyy, I know it can be really tough and it seems to be never ending. But I promise: It will get better! You have to stay kinda hopeful and optimistic. I know, it‘s very often not possible and just saying „stay optimistic“ doesn‘t help. But remember, that you are not alone. Here on this platform are many with similar issues and if you need anyone to liste, just message a listener (like me for example)!

I wish you the best <3

@selfdisciplinedFriend3562 hi there. I wish I could give you some words of advice that would help you with your anxiety. The truth is, no matter what it's going to be there. Coping skills only work sometimes when the anxiety and flight or fight mode is on and kicking your butt. When I was 18 I got diagnosed with anxiety. I was on some meds and they worked. Idk what happened but I ended coming off of them. My anxiety affects my life so much I decided to speak with my doctor and find a solution. Feeling like you're always on edge and on the look out is terrible. Feeling nothing at all one day and feeling everything the next day is horrible. I hope we all find something to help deal.
