What are your physical anxiety/panic attack symptoms?

I suffer from GAD and panic disorder. I have panic attacks more often than I wish, some small and other really really bad. I've been to the hospital countless times along with visiting my doctor for what I think is "life threatening" and never find anything. I have experienced chest pain/tightness, shortness of breath, dizzy, headaches, choking sensation that lasts a while, thought of swollen throat, trouble swollwing, numbness, stomach pain, etc. just courious on what everyone goes through. I felt like such a "weirdo" for a long time and thought I was just nuts until finding this app and reading that I'm not alone in this type of attacks.

For the longest time, anxiety for me was just hyperventilating and trembling but lately my symptoms have gotten so much broader. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in that choking feeling because I get that ALL THE TIME and had no idea what it was about but it was freaking me out. I think the best way to describe how I feel when I get an anxiety attack most of the time nowadays is that feeling you get when someone tips your chair back and you feel like you're going to fall and crack your head open? That's pretty much it. For no reason at all. Anything and everything can trigger it, whether it's waiting at the bus stop or sitting in class taking notes. It happens whenever it pleases and that sucks hahaha

Dizziness and feeling hypoglycemic. Behind my neck hurts, I feel sleepy, my tummy aches, my mind is pounding. Feel like being alone or crawling under something and hiding. Then the inner critic will start telling me how I'll never be good enough. I cant even sit down when it gets really bad... It sucks!

i remember once i started to panic after my my dad found out that i cut and got really mad. i was shaking like crazy, and couldnt breathe well. then everything was blurry i coulnt feel anything. i couldnt feel or see anything its like i was barely alive. then when felt like a second i went back to normal but saw that my eyes were bright red from crying and my arms had scratches on them. check the time and realized i was like that for 40 minutes.

@Deerhuntinbarb

For me, my most noticeable symptoms at first are dry mouth, clammy hands, dizziness, increased heart rate, and muscle tension. I tend to freeze up like a deer in headlights right before I have a panic attack. I am unable to move or speak, but my mind continues to race. My head becomes full of a million anxious/irrational thoughts until I eventually break down. I hyperventilate, my heart palpitates, I become overheated and start to sweat but my dry mouth prevents me from being able to swallow the growing lump of anxiety in my throat. My typical response is to flee. I take the first opportunity I see to exit and remove myself from the situation and it always ends with me crying. I cry SO easily, especially when I'm anxious.

Sometimes. The thought of death and purpose crosses my mind. Random time of the day. It could be while driving. Staring afar. Looking at a rock. Sitting. Watching tv. And the thought crosses my mind. I dont wanna die. The feeling of being alone in the dark . The feeling of non existence. Not seeing your family again. Not being able to feel the wind. The sun. Your body deteriorating. Composting. Decomposing. Then what?? That what will happen?? Is this it? Whats the purpose of us living when we all die anyways.

For me, the panic symptoms change and morph all the time, and that makes it harder because when I get used to calling something panic, there's something new to make me feel like I'm dying.

At the moment, it's dry mouth, not being able to swallow, narrowed vision, sweaty hands and feet, numb hands and feet, trouble breathing, a weird feeling in my ears (sound feels different).

@amusingSail8830

For me i breathe quickly and it feels almost as though my lungs are vibrating as i breathe (i think its wheezing), my fingers and toes go numb and get pins and needles, i get dizzy, i usually start crying, start shaking, sometimes i also get derealised and there is just a general feeling of intense fear and anxiety. The symptoms can also vary sometimes, so sometimes i might not cry, or my hands might not go numb. It really depends on how well i manage it at that time.
