I feel the need of validation to ease my anxiety but most of the time I can't have that validation.. Anxiety is very bad, it cause frequent worries and doubts resulting in fear .. sometimes I wish I could just accept it and tell myself to not care about things I can&t control :[ . How do youu guys deal with this feeling?

@hopefulencounter

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way! Anxiety is a difficult hurdle to overcome, and it makes complete sense that you would be worried about things outside of your control. I think that is a very fundamentally human reaction. However, it can help us to remind ourselves of things we can control, or how we respond to things that are not. Having someone else offer validation is helpful because of that external and social influence, however, it's equally as important that we build these skills on our own so we can handle these anxieties when we're alone and don't have external reassurance.

Beginning by simply acknowledging your feelings can go a long way, as it allows you to view your anxieties from an outside perspective and to simply observe them. Fear is often an automatic reaction to something we went through, and rarely happens without reason. Keeping a grounding list of things that you've overcome, things that went well, or reminders of things you can control is incredible helpful as well, especially if they are somewhere easily accessible such as your phone.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and posting this thread. You're definitely not alone, and I hope there are plenty of other people who will find this thread helpful to them as well!

@Juliet1 thank you so much for your kind and uplifting words.. I will start typing what I've overcome on my phone note now. It's hard for me to practice self compassion, maybe because I'm such a people pleaser. I'm worried thinking about how they'll feel sad,, but sometimes not caring I feel sad when I make them happy. This feeling is so difficult. Thank you for reading my story 🧡

@hopefulencounter you said something interesting that I also deal with and it made me think: (paraphrased) "I have trouble with self compassion because I am a people pleaser."  I ruminated on that for a good moment.  Very interesting thought, as I too am a bit of a people pleaser and a fixer / protector type.  I think that the best way to get through this issue is to ask yourself what you would say to someone else who mirrored your issues and symptoms.  That might help!

As someone who also suffers from anxiety, I hear and see you!  You can make it through this!

@hopefulencounter

I understand what you're feeling right now, and i can totally relate with you.

it can be very stressfull and challenging to deal with your anxiety Alone😔 and you're so right about having these thoughts like just telling yourself that yes this anxiety issue exists and inorder to deal with it , we need to accept it first., because acceptance is the key.

it would help us to to get along with problem and will provide us ways to overcome it.

that's a very good approach.

i couldn't agree more😭

i decided not to worry about the things that make me anxious because i've accepted the fact that life is not always like a bed of roses, it can really become a path of thorns  sometimes..we just need to prepare ourselves for the worst..and trust me it helps alot to overcome our anxiety in a better way.

sometimes when i m unable to sleep at night to anxiousness ,i play the sound of rain in my phone, with handsfree on and disconnect with the word and to cope with my anxiety and stress level..

honestly it helped me alot.

and now i feel much better🤍✨

@hopefulencounter

Hey. I can understand how you are feeling, because I used to feel the same. Making yourself not care about all of the things that cause you anxiety seems like an easy fix, but it is more difficult doing it than saying it. One thing that may help is talking to yourself. About what and how you are feeling, and what worry is causing you to feel this way. Question that thinking, try to find illogical gaps in it, and that thinking will soon seem irrational and void of logic. Hoping it helps.

@Aari137 hello thank you for sharing with me! "Making yourself not care about all of the things that cause you anxiety seems like an easy fix", I really agree with this!  I also agree that it's not easy.. But I'm trying.

At first I feel bad for avoiding, but lately I've been feeling like it's okay to avoid things that made me feel anxious / uncomfortable..

@hopefulencounter i feel you on that... sometimes i just want someone to tell me “you’re good” so my brain can chill for a sec.validation helps, but when it’s not there, it’s like the anxiety doubles.
i’ve been trying to remind myself that not everything needs a fix just breathing through it counts too.
how do you usually calm down when it gets heavy?
