Big changes in life causing severe depression
(vent)
I (20F) had to move with my family to a place I hate and I'm not taking it well. I'm more depressed than I've ever been, I don't go out of my room which is a mess cuade I haven't even fixed up or set up my things yet cause I have no energy. I feel like my entire life has been taken away from me and I don't know what to do, everyday I'm overwhelmed with a sense of "grief" for what used to be as well as just anger, I have to stop myself from screaming every time I feel bad. I cry every day and night and I feel like my life is over no matter what. I hated my old apartment that I lived in for 10+ years with my entire being and now I find myself wishing I never left that place, something I never thought I'd ever say. I don't know what to do, I feel so lost, I feel like I'm barely alive and nothing brings me relief. I hate change so much, especially ones as big and abrupt as this and I just feel like absolutely nobody cares

I care!
We only know what we had when it's gone!
I'm sorry you are going through so much change.
Its alot.
It will take time to process and adjust.
I would personally start with opening my things, throw my headphones on and making g it feel and look more like my own.
Taking it one step at a time.
Wishing you genuinely the best 💜💕
When you are autistic, big changes are a massive shock to the system and cause a lot of panic and upset at first... Sometimes it feels like you'll never get used to it or feel comfortable ever again, but that's not true it just takes us a lot longer and it's a bigger shock... Be kind to yourself and hide away or vent as much as you need.
It's true a lot of normal people find it hard to understand, which sucks 😞
I hope you start to feel a bit better about where you are soon and manage to make your space your own.
I’m not sure if this helps at all to know but I am in your exact same boat basically. 24 and had to move with my family across the country. I’ve been miserable since the day we left. Can’t stop crying, more depressed and lonely than I’ve ever been. Took me 2 months to unpack and barely set up my room and I still have so much more to go through. I’m saying this to me and to you, this feeling will not last forever. I know it feels like it will 😭trust me I have felt so hopeless lately. I’ve felt trapped and the worst part of it all is that I did it to myself. I had the option of staying behind but I was too scared to live in a city with no family. I hate living in that city and now I wish I never left. And the way you’re feeling like no one care is also exactly how my family is being. They just keep ignoring me whenever I get upset. I’m sorry you’re going through this! We will get out of it though!
Have you started applying to jobs? Getting out of the house and establishing a new routine could help a lot. I know for myself I hate actually establishing the routine but once I have it I’m so much happier, might be worth a shot!
@NervousautisticgirlI’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. Moving, especially to a place you dislike, can feel overwhelming and like a huge loss, and it’s okay to grieve that. Your feelings of sadness, anger, and being lost are valid. It might help to try small steps to regain some control—like organizing a corner of your room or finding one small thing you enjoy each day. Reaching out to someone you trust to talk about how you feel can also make a difference, even if it’s just to be heard. You’re not alone, and your feelings matter. If your sadness feels too heavy, consider seeking support from a counselor or mental health professional who can help you through this difficult time.
