"One new thing I've learned today..." (Daily sharing thread!)

"Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning." — William Arthur Ward

Think of your brain as a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger and more flexible it becomes. Learning something new is the ultimate mental workout. It keeps your mind sharp and actually builds new neural pathways, paving the way for fresh ideas and perspectives. The benefits of actively learning one new thing each day go on and on. And with the vastness of the internet at our fingertips, there's really no excuse not to!

Recently, I've been challenging myself to find new information every day so that by the time I go to bed, I can say I learned something. I usually share this tidbit with my partner, both to solidify the knowledge in my head and to give them something new!

And I thought it would be a great idea to expand the knowledge pool and challenge our community:

Every day, learn something new and share it here in this thread. It doesn't have to be a groundbreaking scientific discovery, merely a factoid, a wellness tip, a song, life lesson, or a revelation about yourself!

@Heather225

I did learn things today, but there are rather political, so I'd better not share. 😃

Today I learned that a cat we thought might be a goner (he is 16 and escaped the neighbor’s house) was spotted running across the street, which renewed our search for the lost kitty.

Today I learned that hey, whaddya know, you can get the same amount of work done while keeping yourself relaxed and peaceful as when rushing yourself. Maybe more? I knew this in theory of course, but apparently it works in practice too 🫣

Today I learnt, you can't have things you want if you keep doing the same things you do. You need to upgrade.

Well today I thought/learned about the importance of the mother figure being love with truth and the father figure being truth with love and have began to consider how when you take one of those elements away (love or truth) it becomes poisoned with something else that destroys us. Important also to note that these figures are always in the psyche shaping our reality and our sense of self and others.

Today I learned that change does not always have to be bad, so it is important to prioritize my mental health even if it requires making changes 💝

I have learned that resistance training/lifting weights is more valuable (for my body type) than hard cardio, and there's 5 diferent heart rate zones. zone 2 is walking/cycling) and that's where I should be at!

Today I learned that some things need to be let go of even if it hurts and that not everything can be fixed. You need to pick what you spend your energy on.

Today I learned that I'm a bit more physically capable than I used to be, in a certain way...
