2) Community Questions and Answers - The Basis of Mental Health Awareness and Support (OUTDATED)
As previously introduced, the Questions and Answers Pages at 7 Cups offer a wide range of quality based answers to common mental health questions
Questions and Answers are available for 38 main categories, ranging from General Mental Health, Disabilities, Managing Emotions, Loneliness, Grief, Recovery, Student Life, Work Stress, and many more!
Through this directory of available knowledge, awareness, and support, 7 Cups is equipped with answers to the common questions and concerns people have. Most of these Questions and Answers are featured in search engine results due to the value of the content they contain.
The main community Questions and Answers Page offers a recent questions section as well as a section containing the most answered questions.
All 7 Cups users are invited to search for or ask new questions through the main page. Community users can also participate in this area by submitting their answers, which are reviewed by a team for quality and other important requirements.
Through this discussion, we will discuss the basic requirements needed to research as well as write quality answers for the Question and Answer Pages. Additionally, we will optimize the drafted answers in light of certain guidelines.
(i) Basic Research and Writing Requirements: When writing answers to community questions, keep in mind these tips:
-
You need to write a minimum of 150 characters and 100 words.
-
If research is needed to guide your answer, consider only learning about the topic and avoid direct copy/pasting researched tips, advice, or information.
-
Consider verifying the information or facts through at least 2 reliable sources.
-
When researching possible answers or things the person can benefit from, consider their circumstances and if the tip is do-able and generally applicable.
-
Avoid plagiarism.
-
Use professional and appropriate language.
-
If comfortable, you can add a personal anecdote to help add meaning to your answer. However, avoid turning the answer to just your account or an entire focus on your experience.
-
Be empathetic, and consider using active listening skills to help not only answer their question but their feelings - this adds connection and meaning to your answer, as well as identifies understanding, which can lead to trust.
-
Answers should be related to the question and must contain tips or approaches to help deal with the question/situation instead of vague responses, even if positive.
-
7 Cups is based on avoiding direct advice, this is because we do not know the complete scenario or situation a person may be facing. Keeping that in mind, avoid giving answers that provide one possible “solution” - a good tip is to consider encompassing all possible outcomes or more than one thing the person can try.
(ii) Ensuring Optimized Answers: Although the above requirements and tips help deliver a great answer, further optimization of drafted answers can help ensure their quality.
At 7 Cups, the Content Team uses researched and identified important keywords to guide their research and the writing process to result in optimized content as answers to community questions. In this regard, the basic tips/requirements involved are:
-
Ensure answers have at least 8 to 10 sentences.
-
Ensure the usage/incorporation of the maximum number or all of the provided keywords that can relate to the topic.
What are Keywords?
Generally, keywords can be thought of as terms or phrases that describe a piece of content. Related keywords are supporting keywords that can help further describe or expand on that initial content. For example, for the keyword “anxiety”, related keywords can be “anxiety symptoms” or “anxiety treatments”.
Keywords help with search engine marketing and hence are an important part of SEO strategies. A simple strategy to find keywords is to look for Google Related Searches. These related searches are searches that relate to your term. For instance, a Google Related Search for “anxiety symptoms” is “what is anxiety” - using this insight, you can consider including this phrase alongside a brief category of your content outline to help strengthen the optimization of your content.

Question: How do paper bags help with panic attacks?
Provided Keywords: asthma attack, heart attacks, asthma, problems, brown paper bag, medical conditions, hyperventilation syndrome, mouth, respiratory alkalosis, common causes, chest pain, benefit, stress, medications
Approved, Optimized Answer:
While panic attacks might mimic the symptoms of heart attacks, they can be caused by several other problems and medical conditions. These include feeling stressed or facing medical conditions such as asthma attacks, hyperventilation syndrome, or even respiratory alkalosis. Although the common causes may differ, common symptoms include chest pain. Deep breathing through the mouth or by using a brown paper bag has its benefits, as it aids in the restoration of the loss of carbon dioxide in the blood during the panic attack.
Notes: The question was general, requiring general research-based knowledge on the process of using paper bags for panic attacks. As the keywords were essentially covered, note that this answer does not have 8-10 sentences, but further supporting information or even a personal anecdote can be added.

Question: What to do when you feel you are not good enough for someone?
Feeling like you're not good enough for someone is a tough place to be, and it's something many of us have felt at some point in our lives. Remember, even the most confident people can have moments of self-doubt and negative self-talk.
One of the first steps is to focus on building your self-esteem and self-worth. Spend time with family members and friends who uplift you and remind you of your unique qualities. Engaging in activities that promote self-love and self-confidence can make a big difference.
Social media can often make us feel like we're not measuring up, but it's important to remember that it rarely shows the full picture of someone's life. Communicating openly with your partner about your feelings can also help. A healthy relationship is built on honest communication, and your partner may have their own insecurities as well.
At the end of the day, everyone has their own strengths and wonderful qualities that make them amazing. By recognizing and quieting your inner critic, you can start to appreciate your own worth and the great things you bring to the table.

Nice answer, Lotus Fury.

Feeling not good enough is a common occurrence for a lot of people. It can happen with or without reason and many individuals don’t understand how to cope with it. I have first hand experience with this feeling and I know how difficult it is to feel worthless. I would say that dealing or coping with this is something you learn over time and it’s not simple. There are many ways that people can seek help for this issue, whether it be medication, therapy, or a combination of both. Seeking help is one of hardest things to do when struggling but there are people who are willing to help you. It’s also not always easy to seek these things due to financial issues so many use distraction techniques to help them get by until they feel a sense of relief. I feel for anyone who is or who has dealt with this as it takes everything out of you. The best thing you can do is say you need help and that is a really hard thing to do.
@sleepysalem
Good answer, Salem. We can see that you have empathy for someone in that situation.
Question: What to do when you feel you are not good enough for someone?
Every problem has a solution, and the feeling of not being good enough is most definitely a problem because it can be intertwined with low self-esteem, low self-confidence, self-doubt, and overall confusion about self-worth. These feelings can also contribute to anxiety and depression.
The good news is that we have several options to help us when we are feeling this way. There are many useful self-guides we can follow before we consider going to a therapist. Of course, if receiving therapy is our ultimate choice, that is also a wise route to follow.
Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, “you always hurt the one you love.” Thoughts of being inadequate can be derived from our relationship with those closest to us, such as a partner, our children, our parents, or other family members. One possibility is that someone is projecting their self-loathing onto another instead of properly dealing with this themselves. So, a great first step would be to re-evaluate your relationship, and the true intentions of the person you feel you are not good enough for? For tips on this topic, and signs that this may be the case click on https://www.google.com/ search?q=projecting+selfloathing+on+to+others&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS10
Another way to deal with such negative thoughts of ourselves is to consider these thoughts as our enemy. We must realize these are thoughts, and not facts, even though our minds have convinced us that these thoughts are true. Faulty thoughts can be defined as cognitive distortions. One example is labeling, in which we label ourselves in a negative fashion such as “I am not good enough.” Is there any evidence to back up such negative thoughts? Copy link to get more information on this topic. Cognitive Distortions – Is Your Mind Playing Tricks On You? https://www.harleytherapy.co.uk/counselling/cognitive-distortions.
Another tool to challenge these thoughts and recognize your strengths is to do the Thought Record Exercise which can be found under Depression Self-Guide under path tab- 7 Cups. The objective here is to replace the negative thoughts with alternative thoughts, I.E. “I am good enough. I can show myself self-compassion, and accept myself the way I am.” (Here you will also find an exercise that challenges faulty thinking)
The last tool I will share is the inner critic worksheet, which is my favorite. Why is this a particularly useful tool? Our inner critic reveals our inner voice, which highly impacts how we feel about ourselves. The worksheet contains only 10 steps, but each one is important to helping us discover and work on why we are feeling “not good enough.” Once you fill the worksheet out you can follow up to monitor your progress. We are all human beings who deserve healthy relationships based on trust and good communication. However, before we can love others we must love ourselves, so at the end of the day we must first participate in self-care and self-compassion. More on self-love-
@beckybush
Well done, Becky. Nice detailed answer.
@walkalot Thank-you.
The top 3 strengths that I can automatically see from you is understanding, compassion and peacefulness. I also noticed you provided information, which is always lovely way to assist someone.
However, when it comes to resources as a tip try not to overpower the information with so much resources at once it can be overwhelming and be more stressful for the member/reader to want to read.
great job nonetheless @beckybush
Question: What to do when you feel you are not good enough for someone?
Answer: That's a fantastic question! It's wonderful to see such deep reflection, both personally and as a way to start recognizing the importance of self-appreciation, self-love, and self-care. As human beings, we all deserve to take a moment to acknowledge our worth and nurture ourselves. It's all too easy to feel overwhelmed by the portrayals we see on social media. These images and stories can create a sense of hopelessness regarding our journeys, whether as children, teenagers, parents, or partners. It often leads to harsh self-criticism that can overshadow our true selves.
But it’s important to remember that we have the power to take control of our inner voice and make choices that honor our well-being. Embracing our uniqueness is a beautiful step towards creating healthy relationships, not just with ourselves, but with those around us. It's completely normal to experience moments of self-doubt, but don’t forget that your family and potentially a therapist are there to support you through those tough times.
The key takeaway is that none of us is perfect, and that's okay. You are a truly wonderful individual, and it’s crucial not to let negative thoughts steer your day. Remember, there are resources and support available to help you navigate life. You are valued, and you matter always!
@InsightfulPhoenix
You clearly showed compassion and empathy and it flowed so nicely. It is relaxed, kind of like talking to a friend but your language remained professional. The only tip I can think of is maybe to add a personal anecdote. I just think this answer was beautifully written.
What to do when you feel you are not good enough for someone?
parents, partner, self-esteem, social media, self-worth, good news, best way, first step, human beings, children, therapy, self-love, family members, better person, good time, good luck, inner critic, self-doubt, negative self-talk, real reason, whole life, amazing person, self-confidence, voice, right thing, healthy relationship, great things, information, communication, end of the day
The first step could be to check the facts. Ask yourself what is the real reason you feel this way. Was there a specific event(s) that prompted these feelings? There are many things that can have an impact on our self-esteem and self-worth. One of the biggest influences, for example, is social media. We might see friends or family members’ posts and they may seem like they are having a good time, or like they are a better person than us. This can often make us feel like we aren’t doing enough for our parents, our children, or our partner. Or maybe the media sets unrealistic standards for how we should look or behave and when we realise that we are not like that, we can be really hard on ourselves.
Over time, this repeated negative self-talk can make us believe that if we don’t meet these expectations, then we are not good enough. You could share these feelings with your loved ones. At the end of the day, the best way to understand somebody (and for them to understand you) is with communication. It can be a good way to reinforce a healthy relationship.
Another thing you can do is to remind yourself that we are all human beings. We have all made mistakes and we have all done great things. Nobody in the world is “perfect”, that is impossible, but you can still be an amazing person. Take some time to remind yourself of your good qualities.
Sometimes the voice of our inner critic can be louder than our positive affirmations. If you feel like these feelings are having a huge impact on your life, there is also the option of therapy. They could help to teach you skills to build self-confidence and self-love. They can also provide you with the necessary information to help you recognise what things may be influencing your insecurities. At the very least, sharing your concerns with somebody you trust could help you to feel reassured and remove any self-doubt.
@Raven2711
Great job! Your response shines with empathy, well-defined approaches, and professional language, plus you’ve used the keywords perfectly.
A slightly more concise and optimized version could make it even stronger, but overall, fantastic work! Your response was both informative and insightful. Keep it up, Raven!

Question: What to do when you feel you are not good enough for someone?
Provided Keywords: parents, partner, self-esteem, social media, self-worth, good news, best way, first step, human beings, children, therapy, self-love, family members, better person, good time, good luck, inner critic, self-doubt, negative self-talk, real reason, whole life, amazing person, self-confidence, voice, right thing, healthy relationship, great things, information, communication, end of the day
Answer: When you feel you're not good enough for someone, it can be a sign of declining self-esteem. This feeling is common in all relationships, whether with parents, a partner, family members, children or even on social media. These emotions often arise when you're battling your inner critic and engaging in negative self-talk, which leads to self-doubt and lower self-confidence. The real reason behind this is often a loss of self-worth, particularly from negative feedback or comparison. Healthy relationships are based on good communication, where both parties support each other to do great things. The best way to counteract these feelings is through self-love, spending time with people who care about you, and finding activities that nurture your passions. If these feelings persist, seeking therapy could also help you understand and manage them. At the end of the day, remember that you are an amazing person, and these strategies can help you build a more positive sense of yourself.

Answer:
It is though to feel that way. Usually, the voice telling you ''you're not good enough'' is caused by self-doubt. This can be caused by many thing, including the pressure of your parents/family members, a partner and nowadays social media. The first step is to reflect, ask yourself how you can be a better person and if you're in a healthy relationship with the person that made you doubt yourself. Remember that it's totally valid and normal to feel this way sometimes, at the end of the day we're all human beings. It can be hard to know your self-worth, especially when under a lot of pressure. Trying to think positive thoughts and discovering your qualities can boost your self-confidence. Don't let your inner critic tear you down, you could always consider therapy or look for more information if you struggle with this a lot.
@dxphne Sorry I made a typo, I meant 'tough'

3 strenghts : It's easy to read, well written, you show empathy in your words.

@pikaTangerine1 Ah thank you! I appreciate it!
Provided Keywords: parents, partner, self-esteem, social media, self-worth, good news, best way, first step, human beings, children, therapy, self-love, family members, better person, good time, good luck, inner critic, self-doubt, negative self-talk, real reason, whole life, amazing person, self-confidence, voice, right thing, healthy relationship, great things, information, communication, end of the day
Answer: This is a very pertinent question in the current context of the world in which we live in. It often happens that we do not feel capable and good enough and we end up comparing ourselves to others. Remember that life is not a competition and that our goal is not to prove how great we are compared to other people. Each person is unique in his own way, with qualities and flaws. Often these feelings of insecurity arise precisely because we seek to be one step ahead of the others. At the end of the day we are all human beings and we all do mistakes. The pressure coming from the society and toxic relationships end up affecting our self-esteem, our self-confidence. The first step is to ask yourself if that's the right thing to do and how it benefits you. If you discover that the real reason for your self doubt is because of that, then try to change it by focusing on positive things, practice self-love, self-worth and you will realize what an amazing person you actually are. Think about the great things you achieved during your life no matter how small you or anyone else think they are. Sometimes, just being kind to yourself can make all the difference. Surround yourself with family members or friends who uplift you, and don’t hesitate to seek therapy if these feelings persist. Therapy can provide tools to silence the inner critic and build a healthier perspective.
I wish you good luck on your path and remember that every healthy relationship is built through communication, no matter if it's about parents, family members, your partner or any other person!

The one I had read was 10 Reasons Why You Feel “Not Good Enough," and they are the most important ones, and they are:
Low Self-Esteem – What do you think and feel about yourself? A person who has an enormous amount of low self-esteem in this society is fueling their depression and their self-destructive ideas and their behaviors. Low self-esteem has a variety of roots: perfectionism, critical parents, traumas, abuse, lack of opportunities, racial or cultural oppression, etc. Low self-worth is different from self-esteem. Not feeling good enough is the roots of how you feel about yourself as a person. In self-worth, you often would want external validation where you find your approval is not very satisfying in one reason: you are putting yourself in an unhealthy and unfulfilling relationships.
Fragmented Parts of the Self—When you can deny certain parts of you and suffer from the feelings of “not good enough.” And accepting the other half of yourself, this is the way you begin to fragment yourself from a younger age. You start to deny, disapprove, and be criticized for your limited or weak points. One of the main reasons for feeling “not good enough” is because we stay in a society where we constantly are comparing with one another.
Perfectionistic Tendencies: Perfectionism is an enormous issue in society because it fuels depression and anxiety and that alone makes people not good enough. Quixotism is not having the highest standards; it is a need that has the expectation of being perfect. They are willing to accept less than perfect, which can result in the causes to miss the opportunities that are likely to be a downfall. Nothing says it must be perfect.
• Past Trauma or Abuse: Trauma and abuse are related to self-worth, more notably in the past trauma due to them not being easily forgotten. “Powerless” is a natural reaction to the abuse. Abuse and trauma take time to heal and to deal with. We change this pattern to be a healthier way of looking at yourself.
• Parenting/Upbringing: In these kinds of rules, it typically stems from a child wanting something or the parent not being tranquil without their approval. In the result of a child, the child will feel unloved, rejected, unwanted, and torn. The parents don’t understand why their children are acting the way they do.
Imposter Syndrome is a feeling of inadequacy that could lead to perfectionism. Perfectionism is usually set at remarkably ambitious standards and has become very quickly self-critical in case of failures in the face of extremely elevated expectations. They are primarily internal on yourself, and many people have imposter syndrome. Some people will fear that people will find out that they are imposters and that they are fake and not as bright as people think they are. Understanding the imposter syndrome and knowing the signs or affects. It can be helpful to deal with this type of disease.
Chronic Stress: When your body is overwhelmed by chronic stress, it's not a happy place to be. Chronic stress can affect many things, like health, relationships, daily living, your work, and your studies.
• Depression or anxiety: Depression and anxiety are two prevalent mental health problems. Is it at a higher rate of feeling to say you’re not good enough? Negative self-talk is also common in depression, which can result in a feeling of inadequacy. When you are depressed, you feel that nothing will change and nothing positive will come out of it.
Inner Critics-You can’t criticize— Criticize yourself into a better person. Exactly when you make mistake or mess up. Decreasing your chances when you start to be criticized yourself. Because if you work against yourself and you keep on repeating, this will be a type of self-talk. This is not a type that is helpful, and, in many cases, it is not true.
My interpretations of this meaning
I feel that telling yourself you are not good for anything is a strong power statement. It feels like a harsh reality. I admit it. I have said it a few times because I thought my life was going nowhere and it wouldn’t change but it did. I am in college and have graduated from two schools. My self-esteem was so low that I could be considered in danger. But I woke up and changed my life. I was tired of saying I was not good at it, and my depression was bad at one time. Therefore, if you give it a chance, set aside negative thoughts, and focus on positive self-talk, your life can indeed transform.
