Is it easier to love or hate?
In my understanding, it completely depends on someone's default system.
Some individuals find it really hard to not love everyone. For them love is their default mode. Hating would take a lot of adverse experiences with an individual and be painful for them to have to feel.
Other individuals on the contrary find it really hard to love anyone at all. Their default mode is one of putting themselves above all and loving someone (making them come first) is always requiring effort. For these individuals, it is easier to hate than it is to love.
I would say that the human norm is sitting between both, where both love and hate require some effort, which leads them to have a certain level of indifference and to only feel love or hate when situations trigger them.
@NotFound20 I feel it's harder to hate than to Love. Sure Our past experiences can make it harde for us to love but truly hating someone you had deeply loved once can be harder. Hate is a strong emotion but love is stronger maybe that's why we stay in relationships we know we should leave. We can be mad, angry, or hurt because of people we love but that doesn't necessarily mean we hate them. I feel hate is when we truly and without guilt wish really ill on someone. Out of anger we can wish for something bad to happen to someone but when the anger calms down we might feel guilty because you dont want to hurt people you love. Yeah so hate is harder than love <3 But thats just my opinion <3
I'm one of the weird people who don't know how to hate/be angry/get mad.
So, it's easier for me to love. I wish it wasn't the case; sometimes, I feel (and I know) it's easier to be able to hate someone so I can move on faster or let go faster, but that's not the case so I make do with what I was dealt with.
It's easier to love. Having empathy makes it far too difficult to hate for very long. It's like there's this gentle - but ceaseless - tug on my conscience to show compassion and love my fellow man.
Love and hate are not two different emotions. It's the same linear line where one end is love and the other end is hate. So we are like falling left or right as per the situations.
To give an example,
When you were a kid, you were so fragile, and your parents and others scolded you for things you had done that were out of bounds. But the thing is, there were people around you to show good things and behaviours in the name of manners for one another to safeguard society. But on the other hand, that kid took it wrongly, as they were hurting that kid, and they are hating that kid. Here, love becomes hate for that kid. Kids can't understand the situations around them and are always expecting pleasant, smiling faces. But most of the time, love will come with hard, rough faces too.
After time flies, that kid will be grown up, and that kid won't listen to their guardians and will show rude faces and an attitude. Here, we can't take this as hate in return. because parents were once kids. They know what will happen. So they know this is another form of love, but for that kid, it's a new thing, and that kid doesn't want to be held inside a cage. Here hate becomes love through understanding the phases of this human society.
I'm not talking about nature. Nature is completely wild. Nature doesn't know what love and hate are. It's all about the decisions we take and the experiences we go through with "understanding."
People who always question love and hate are kids who have to learn things. "Age can't determine maturity."
One edge is love, and another edge is hate. There are no two things that are happening at two different levels. You won't love or hate someone if you aren't paying attention to that person or thing. If you do, then that means you have already decided to spend your time with that person or thing, and either love or hate will happen and keep changing phases according to the situations, as it is a linear line.
Which one is easier?
"Understanding" is the easiest method to find out.
@NotFound20 I think both are equally powerful. And both lead to different kinds of miseries. Love leads to too much attachment and hate leads to aversion and bitterness. Best is to love in a universal selfless way, with universal kindness, so that it doesn't hurt too much when someone leaves you!
@NotFound20
Hate is easier because it requires no outside input or self awareness.
