Nutella is here with their red marking pen :) Interview with a Marker #1
Hey everyone.
Happy valentines day all ❤️
I warmly welcome to you @amazingNutella24 our coursework quiz marker on the QLP team.
We massively appreciate the dedication and patience which goes into this role. You are a brilliant addition to our team! Let's check out the interview:
Q1: What encourages you to be in a role that provides grading and feedback?
Nutella: That’s a lovely start! To be precise, it’s more of passing on feedback than grading haha! But yes, this somehow fell in line as I was growing in my leadership roles. It required me to receive and let on feedback hand in hand. So it happened over time as a part of my responsibilities. It was nonetheless a great learning experience!
Q2: Do you have any tips for anyone who wants to take a role like this?
Nutella: Not a lot but two very important points. One, if someone is willing to be in a position where they’re required to send over feedback to others, they should first of all be open to receiving feedback themselves 💜 And secondly, understand the importance of well-framed feedback. The two points are actually related because one would know how feedback (positive or constructive!) looks or feels like only when they’re open to receiving them
Q3: Would you like to share what you are learning from this role?
Nutella: I learnt a lot, no joke haha! I understood how impactful words are. Shaping feedback is no less of art in my opinion. And I felt the impact further when I received feedback myself. How differently framed same words would impact me differently. Now that was a great realisation within itself!
Q4: Any special shoutouts for anyone who has helped you develop?
Nutella: I had @MistyMagic @Garcey @Mel @ASilentObserver @MidnightRaven999 @RebekahRoyal with me on this journey, and all of them at one point or the other, helped me hone my skills and I’m forever grateful to them for that 💜
Anyone who is in any other role where they grade and give feedback? I’d be happy to hear your opinions and thoughts which are just as important.
I welcome any feedback from anyone, even if you are not in a role that requires you to grade and mark work. What message do you have for Nutella? <3
